About this listen
A body is discovered with her throat cut and her daughter believed missing. DCI Foster quickly sees parallels with the disappearance of a teenager three years earlier.
With hopes fading, he calls on genealogist Nigel Barnes to piece together the links between the families of the two girls. The trail leads back to 1890, and a young couple fleeing a terrible crime in their past....

Something different!
I enjoy crime, detective, forensic drama , but this was not the norm. The past and the present inter twined, the science behind DNA , genes and ancestry investigation. Thoroughly enjoyed, for two main reasons, the story and the story teller, narration was first class.

Excellent
New to this author and this story had me gripped from the start. I hope there’ll be more on audible. Narrator is great.

compelling story
liked the narrator (as usual. Always choose audiobooks narrated by Colin Mace) Unusual storyline, different from the usual murder settings and use of the Mormon faith as a backdrop.

Really different
This was such an interesting listen and a completely different take on police procedurals. I have now gone into a whole rabbit hole of researching on google ' post death baptisms' The author has combined police procedural and genealogy and made it really exciting and captivating.
Why I was disappointed was that the first section of the book referred a lot to the fall out from book 1 but neither book 1 or book 3 are available as audible listens so I felt very short changed. I know I can always read them which I am going to have to do, but there are times when I like listening.

Great story. Another fantastic performance by Colin Mace
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a great plot, with some excellent characters, which kept me engaged all the way, and also gave some interesting insights into a number of subjects. I hope this becomes a series on Audible. I actually picked it as it is read by Colin Mace, who I think is the perfect reader for any book that is London based, although he is pretty good at accents too.

Different sort of plot line
Loved this as I love crime and history. Very interesting plot. Have realised that this is book 2 in a series but books 1 & 3 don't appear to be available on Audible. What a shame as I would buy them.
