Excellent Debut Novel

Excellent listen. I have RP too so was very pleased that the author did her research on this eye condition!! This book kept me interested all the way through and i enjoyed the relationships between all the main characters. very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

Average

I don’t know if I’m being unfair to the author here, and I’ve read too much of the genre recently. The writing is a little juvenile & cringeworthy at times. I’m also very tired of the traditional young female detective trope - tortured by their own amazing intelligence & undeniable beauty. It’s all rather annoying & predictable. Not much here to unpack with the MC or supporting cast. The mystery underwhelms & sadly I won’t be listening to the next books in the series.

Not bad...in the end

I very nearly gave up on this a couple of times in the first hour. I felt the start didn’t engage me at all. In the end though, I persevered and I’m glad I did. The characters became more interesting and the plot developed well. I’ll definitely give the next in ther series a try when it comes out.
The narration was pretty good but I’ve marked it down for some very odd mispronounciation of quite ordinary words and in one case a name. Careful editing should have picked these out.

Really enjoyable

Was so good to have a detective series where the main character Anne was in charge of looking into old crimes which withbteists and turns would also lead onto a current case .
Love the narrater on this book
