Summary
Damian longs for home, but one man stands in his way …
Damian is just seven when he is taken in by foster carer Cathy Glass. His mother, Rachel, loves her three young children dearly, but she is vulnerable, naive and unable to cope on her own.
Cathy sets about helping Damian overcome his eating issues, with the hope that he will eventually return home. But when Rachel’s new boyfriend, Troy, arrives on the scene, Cathy becomes deeply concerned. She soon realises that Damian and his siblings are in great danger …

Great but …
I’m not so keen on the little stories about multiple children. Wasn’t my favourite one but I love Cathy so I still loved it and finished it in two days 😂

The end is nigh??
Sense the difference in this book to all the others when Damian’s story wasn’t picked up from the beginning like normal.
I have been read all of Cathy’s books and have been an avid follower since Cut.I am sensing the end is nigh and Cathy is getting ready to wind down.I truly hope this isn’t the case!
Another brilliant read.

Ok
I’ve read every one of her books, this one seemed to lack something, I’m not sure exactly what… maybe it was too many different children/ families, too much pandemic talk and a general lack of direction.

5 stars everytime
my Husband and I listen to every new Cathy Glass book. each time we have to extend our hour timed when we are meant to go to bed
we love to hear how she turns lives around or gives the children a sense of unconditional love that they need. You deserve an award for the endless hours of care you give to each child who comes through your doors.

Another heartfelt memoir
Another one of Cathy Glass's heartfelt memoirs. sad to hear how a young mother can be taken advantage of and then lose her children, but sadly, this happens so much. Cathy, as usual, puts so much effort into helping where she can and goes above and beyond her role. loved the little bonus story that was added on about Esme, too. I will be going to check for updates after finishing this review.
Definitely another must-read for anyone enjoying Cathy Glass's books or anyone who is looking for a new book, but be warned that once you read one of them, you will be hooked 😊

I am trying to go through these books in sequence, I love listening to Cathy's life as a carer & I thought this one was one of the best. It's so sad that social worker don't get carers more support when an alligation has been made by a troubled teenager perhaps if it had been this couple would not have felt the need to quit fosters. Sadly some of the social workers have the wool pulled over their eyes & tragedy happens, whereas 20 years ago little was done for children after they went into foster homes now sadly it's gone the other way & foster children seem to have more rights that the foster carers & that is wrong & that certainly needs putting right as more foster carers will leave putting a bigger strain on those that at left.
