Summary
Tilly hates her stepfather, Dave. He abuses her mother, but she refuses to leave him.
Frightened for her own safety, Tilly asks to go into foster care and is placed with Cathy. Tilly arrives with a graze on her cheek and Cathy becomes increasingly concerned by Dave’s behaviour, especially when she learns he has been showering Tilly with gifts. While she’s busy looking after Tilly and trying to keep her safe, Cathy is also worried about her own daughter, Lucy. She has a very difficult decision to make that will affect the rest of her life, and Cathy hopes she makes the right choice.

Tilly a young school girl wants taken into care.
An abusive step father. A petrified mother and a confused child. A gripping true story of what happens in real families. Also the update of Cathy's adopted daughter. Cathy is a fantastic fosterminder letting and making us part of her life with her stories. congratulations on being a grandmother. And congratulations to the rest of your family.

Great book
This was the first Cathy glass book I read (listened to) and it got me hooked. Such a lovely compassionate woman. Well written story. Would recommend.

Another great book
As always Cathy’s books are so emotional. This one as always had me gripped. A rollercoaster of emotions. Not sure I can wait for the next one.

Loved listening to it on audio. Tragic story but always great to hear how well they cope with the foster children and the parents
