About this listen

The newly discovered novel from multi-million-selling author Joy Ellis. Never-before published!

THREE NICE PEOPLE. THREE TERRIBLE CRIMES. WHAT MADE THEM DO THESE AWFUL THINGS?

It’s the night shift worker who finds them. Huddled in a hospital store cupboard is elderly Edith Higgins. Knifed to death. Sitting behind her is Staff Nurse Lily Frampton, a scalpel clasped in her blood-soaked hand.

No one can understand why this kind-hearted, dedicated nurse would brutally murder a frail patient she’s spent months caring for.

That same day, mild-mannered schoolteacher Rod Black is found surrounded by the battered bodies of his pupils. Why would a well-respected teacher beat five schoolboys to death?

Then a third shocking — and equally inexplicable — incident takes place in a London homeless shelter.

Book 2

it was good to catch up with the characters again and unravel another nightmare.

No 3rd book required IMHO.

Such an unusual story…loved every second of it

Unusual storyline. So well written and characters continued to be developed from first book. We really need more of these characters -let’s hope the author(ess) feels ready to pen some more for us. Excellent. Loved every second of the story.

Just loved this

Genuine mystery for ages but good that the clues were there. Really enjoyed the cross genre. Hope there’s a third book soon…

A great story

I loved these two books in the series. The first was a much better storyline and the narrator was superb. Maybe Joy Ellis can write some more updated stories for Ellie and Michael.

unusual plot combining crime drama and the supernatural.

I really enjoyed this audio book. I'm glad Joy Ellis decided to publish. The unexpected twists and turns made me want to keep listening and it was interesting to see the development of the characters from the first novel.

More of these, please!

Loved the cross-genre story. I’d really like to hear more from Ms Ellis. The detective story, mixed with a bit of paranormal is brilliant.

pity there are only 2

whilst I really enjoy her police procedural, these 2 books are so different from what everyone else does that it's a pity she stopped the series. yes, they're set a goid few years ago but they have a twist. lots of similar around nowadays, but auras are definately not up there. can see a visual series about this. go fir it, joy. you never know.

Love the themes

Not as good or as strong a story as Book 1 in the series but great continuation to the original mystery with a twist

Northwest Listener

At the beginning of this book Joy Ellis explained that it was one of her very early book where she had ben uncertain as to write crime fiction or para normal. It was quite clear when listening of the overlap in genre, and it did not burst my bubble. I considered abandonment on a number of occasions but I saw it through to the end in respect of Joy Ellis as I love her books normally.
