Summary

When old bones are discovered buried beside an A road, it becomes clear that Leon Martin—dubbed "The Ken Doll Killer" by the tabloid press—may not have taken his life 21 years ago.

As Boyd investigates the old case file, it becomes clear that there may be new bodies buried at lay-bys around the country—more than that, something incredible was overlooked by the original investigating team.

Old bones new bones

Totally, totally brilliant the story the narrator- everything. Have tried so many new authors lately and either the narrator has been naff or the story

Good solid murder story

Good story, not warming as much to the characters in this series as much as others so far. Will be listening to book 3!

Great story, sympathetic characters, superb narration.

I am enjoying getting to know Boyd and co. and becoming invested in their stories. Aubrey Parsons is an excellent narrator and makes the stories come to life in an absolutely relatable way. Just one little niggle the editing isn't great in places so some phrases are repeated. I often wonder if anyone from the production team ever actually listens

Exciting storyline

The story moved along quickly and the characters seem interesting . Brilliant narration. Only irritant was the depiction of the hospice as a quiet sombre place with short tempered staff. Total opposite of my experience.

Fabulous 2nd book in this series

After listening to a couple of truly awful new crime authors I was excited to see the 2nd book in the DCI Boyd series by Alex Scarrow had just come out, and it didn’t disappoint! Even better than the first one, the characters are being developed so well, more humour in this one which I loved and the story keeps you guessing.
Brilliant narration by Aubrey Parsons.
Just wish the next one was ready to down load and listen too.
If you love crime fiction I would highly recommend this series.

Boyd is Back!

A second brilliant story in this Boyd series. This one is even better than the first in my opinion. The remains of young lads who disappeared 20 years ago turn up and open up a tangled web of mystery for hour hero Boyd and his team. Already looking forward to the next episode. Aubrey does his usual professional narration in this definite 5 star listen.
