Summary

Never Get Angry Again, by New York Times and internationally best-selling author David J. Lieberman, is a comprehensive, holistic look at the underlying emotional, physical, and spiritual causes of anger and a practical guide to what the listener can do to gain perspective.

David J. Lieberman understands that a change in perspective is all that is needed to help keep from flying off the handle. In Never Get Angry Again, he reveals how to see anger through a comprehensive, holistic lens, illuminates the underlying emotional, spiritual, and physical components of anger, and gives listeners simple, practical tools to snuff out anger before it even occurs.

Take a deep breath and count to 10. Meditate. Visualize your happy place. You've probably heard all of these anger management techniques and more from friends, family, and experts, but somehow they miss the mark when it comes to coping with the complex emotion of anger.

Let's face it: If anger-management techniques were effective, you wouldn't be listening to this audiobook. These clumsy attempts to maintain calmness are usually futile and sometimes emotionally draining. The fact is, either something bothers us (causing anxiety, frustration, or anger), or it doesn't. A state of calm is better accomplished by not becoming agitated in the first place. When we fight the urge to blow up or melt down, we fight against our own nature.

GENUINE REVIEW FROM SOMEONE WHO ACC LISTENED

No this book is not all about religion. Too many people complaining and basing their review about one chapter.
I am not religious in the slightest, and it hasn't "radicalised" me as one person's review said. Very silly comments from people that didn't listen to the whole book.

Anyway, I couldn't recommend this book more to people who have a hard time controlling & understanding their emotions. In a nutshell, it teaches you how to step back and analyse situations with different perspectives, how to spot bad traits in others (& yourself), then will also show you how to apply everything that you've learnt.

Maybe my review is a little bias as I stubbled across this at the right time, but I still standby that fact that I can't recommend this enough, even if you think you have control of your emotions.

Don't personalise the fight is one of the most important element.

Some fights needs you to get angry, so you dont regret not being true to yourself.

Great listen

This was a great book to listen to with practical steps to avoid getting angry and real life situations used as examples. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who is trying to get a handle on their emotions and not erupt in a fit of rage when pushed.

Everything makes so much sense

After listening to this book, everything makes sense the how the why the when the who i can’t wait to put into practise. Now I understand where my anger comes from and why it presents its self it’s so much easier to control. For me I struggled with anger when my kids was so so difficult and this has helped me rid my life of that and enjoy a better fuller relationship
