About this listen
Have you struggled to keep food down for several months now? Do you remember the last time you ate without feeling weighed down and guilty? When was the last time you looked in the mirror without grimacing? I can help you.
This book is dedicated to those suffering with an eating disorder called Bulimia Nervosa. I am writing based on my experience with the disease. The personal accounts within this book can aid in identifying and overcoming this disorder. Too many teen girls walk the halls of school living in their heads and starving their bodies. This book can help you to see the beautiful girl in the mirror, enjoy food again and begin talking about your feelings without fear of judgment.
Twenty years ago, I was caught in the grips of Bulimia Nervosa. The disorder made me feel as though I had an anchor inside of me. I stood at 5 foot 2 inches, weighted 92 pounds, and wore a size zero in jeans. I will relate to you within this book the ways to beat this eating disorder.
Eating disorders can take their toll on you, your relationships, and your life. I have written this book as a guide for you to find an outlet for your thoughts, coping mechanisms for your stress and a way forward in your daily interactions with family, friends, and peers.
It is important to understand, this disease is not attention seeking, but instead a reaction to overattentive environments. If you read through this book, you will find tips and guides to cope with school, sports, family, and friends. It is not easy being a teenage girl, especially in high school. This guide serves to help navigate the daily pressures young women are under in their everyday lives.

Teen Girls
Throughout my years, I never had an issue or suffered from an eating disorder. I have been slim and never paid attention to my body weight. I had friends who had problems with eating disorders, and I never said anything to them, but I respect them no matter who they are. I love my body, and everyone is different. Eating disorders can affect your health, like your moon and how you see the world. We all love food, and we need to be careful not to consume too much sugar; otherwise, it may affect our bodies. I like the advice from the author and all the step-by-step guides to eating disorders.

for those struggling with Eating disorders
Wow! This is an amazing inspiring and applicable resource for those who are struggling with any eating disorder. It goes over which foods to eat and not eat in order to overcome the urges that they face, and gives other types of listeners tips on how to help the person overcome this mental struggle. Figuring these things out from experience, the author is trying to set up young people with tools she had to learn on her own. Great job, Shannon.

Helping young women with bulimia
This audiobook shows the struggles that young women go through when they have Bulimia Nervosa. It discusses the ongoing struggles a girl goes through, the self-isolation, and explains that many of these women also suffer from other mental disorders. They feel that no one listens to them or cares about them. Yet, these young women feel guilty for their issues and for lying. The author provides strategies that you can use to battle bulimia and your perception of food. She also discusses the types of parenting styles and why authoritarian parents are commonly one reason girls develop bulimia, the parental control, and the constant barrage of negativity leading girls to feel trauma, neglect, and abuse. I think this audiobook is a great resource for young women to understand their condition, how they can take steps to correct it, and how to get help to overcome it.

Helpful tools for understanding the problem
I really like how this book dives deep into this issue. It doesn't just tell you what bulimia is, but it explains the "why" behind it. Knowing that helped me gain a much better understanding of why this happens, because if you don't know the root cause it is so hard to ever actually fix the problem. This guide clearly explains the issue and what do to about it.
