Summary
BE PREPARED TO PUT YOUR LIFE ON HOLD FOR THIS ADDICTIVE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING THRILLER - WITH A TWIST THAT YOU WILL NEVER SEE COMING.
'A jaw dropping last line twist' Lisa Jewell, #1 bestselling author of The Family Upstairs
'Impossible to put down' Independent
'Will grasp you unapologetically from the first page to the last.' READER REVIEW
Sadie loves her daughter and will do anything to keep her safe.
She can't tell her why they had to leave home so quickly - or why Robin's father won't be coming with them to London.
She can't tell her why she hates being back in her dead mother's house, with its ivy-covered walls and its poisonous memories.
And she can't tell her the truth about the school Robin's set to start at - a school that doesn't welcome newcomers.
Sadie just wants to get their lives back on track.
But even lies with the best intentions can have deadly consequences...
'I read The Lies You Told in two days, barely able to turn the pages fast enough. It's spare and taut, the sense of wrongness building in chilling, skilfully written layers, with a jaw dropping last line twist' Lisa Jewell, #1 bestselling author
'I adored Blood Orange and therefore could not wait to get my hands on The Lies You Told. It is a triumphant encore, every bit as intriguing, well-written and addictive as its predecessor' Sara Collins, award-winning author of The Confessions of Frannie Langton

Couldn’t put it down!
Excellent story, a constant undercurrent of something brewing kept the suspense all the way through. There was a time towards the end if they story where things didn’t stack up fully for me, but overall a listen that I couldn’t put down at all! Even did my food shop and had my eyelashes done with my earphones in 🤣🤣

Great denouement, infuriating narrator.
Great denouement, infuriating narrator. Almost gave up at least twice. You need to empathise not scream in frustration.

Fantastic book
I absolutely loved the narrator, infact I have been searching for her books!!! I read (physically) Blood Orange and LOVED it! Waited a while for this to be released, but well worth a listen if you don’t have the time to read!.... I may actually listen again soon!!!!!

A masterclass in suspense writing
This is so clever and gripping. The misdirection and weaving together of threads is brilliant.
I loved Blood Orange and I think I might love this even more!

Such a disappointment after Blood Orange :(
I absolutely loved Blood Orange by the same author so kept an eye out for the next novel and pre-ordered when it appeared, in keen anticipation. However this book was quite a chore to get through. Completely unbelievable story line and characters, dull narration and I felt quite relieved when it was over. Maybe I had just built it up too much!

Mildly Chilling with Twists & Turns
The main character spends a lot of time angsting over things she could easily change or solve as well as dropping her phone and falling over many times. The parallel child abuse legal case story line seemed unnecessary. The main story around life time bullies, insecure mothers and overcompensating mothers felt repetitive after a while. Final outcome twists a few times before conclusion. You will have solved it by the middle but will question yourself a few more times, changing your view before the epilogue.
