Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Golden Buddha by Clive Cussler with Craig Dirgo, read by J. Charles.

When Cabrillo and his ship are hired by the US government to find an ancient statue known as the Golden Buddha, stolen from the Dalai Lama in 1959, the stakes couldn't be higher. Success of failure will determine the future of Tibet. Playing the Russians off against the Chinese while battling against mysterious forces who will do anything to stop them, the crew of the Oregon face a formidable foe. But like his extraordinary ship, the enigmatic Juan Cabrillo has more than a few aces up his sleeve...

Golden Buddha

Another Clive Cussler page turner, if only it were true but I can but hope. Well written and read, the detail is amazing and the book is well thought

such a let down

I love cussler's books; they're something of a guilty pleasure of mine. but J Charles performance ruins this book. whether the unnecessary sfx or the really bad accents, I can't finish this. please re- record with Scott Brick!

Not his best for sure

The narration has caused me to struggle to complete the story. Where are the characters I know and love? It maybe the first i the series and written some time ago, but I've found it really outdated today.

sorry

I have listened to all of the Oregon tales and many of the others. I was dubious about a different narrator but gave it a try. After weeks I am still only part way through. , his attempt ar accents is grindingly bad and the story doesn't make sense with it., Cabrillo is made to sound as thick as 2 planks.

Narration spoilt this book

I will have to re listen to this book as I got really frustrated trying to work out what this narrator was saying. Found it difficult to recognise the characters as all the voices had changed. Some of the accents were absolutely dreadful. The storyline is true Clive Cussler where suspension of reality has to take place as a good tale weaves it's way through the pages. Please beg Scott Brick to come back and record this book and the Sacred Stone after all for fans of Clive Cussler he is the voice of this series and the other series'.

Poor Accents

Not at all keen on the Very poor local accents.
Almost insulting to the ethnicity of the characters.

Not even close to the quality of Dirk Pitt novels

As a big fan of Cussler's Dirk Pitt and Fargo novels, I was expecting better from this.
