About this listen

This collection of stories goes back to Dan “Spider” Shepherd’s SAS days, and the missions that shaped him. From his training in the welsh hills and the jungles of Belize, through to his early missions in Sierra Leone and the Middle East, these nine stories chart his rise through the SAS, and his involvement with the elite Sabre Squadron.

Along with his comrades Jimbo, McKay and Geordie, Spider puts his life on the line on active duty…and sows the seeds of his future career. We even discover how he earned his nickname....

Entertaining as always

With Stephen leather as the author, Spider Shepherd as the main character and the great voice of Paul Thornley it could not go wrong. These short stories are brilliant, never a dull moment

Fantastic short stories of the hero of the hour

Great short stories, though I panicked when at the end of the first story, the credit announcements came on......and I thought I'd been shortchanged and paid for a book that was too meagre. I can't understand why for this collection, one announcement at the end wasn't enough.
I love Spider Shepherd, and so devoured this lot and find them so captivating, life can have a very annoying habit of interrupting me being in the zone.

Short stories on spiders past

If you have read most of the books in the Dan Shepard series this book is for you.
It will give you some back stories of his time in the SAS which the books talk about and there are some WOW points and names you have heard in the series that makes you give props to the author. Like how he gets shot and why he named his son the name he did. Very happy with the collection.

Particularly like the 1hr-90mins short story.
Like all the books, these too are fast paced, exciting and well written.

Fabulous writing and narration

These collection of stories give a good insight into how Spider got to be the person he is in the rest of the series. Great characters and plenty of action.
