Summary

Ex-DCI Luke Sackville is asked to investigate celebrity parties by a whistleblower at GNE, a global news and entertainment company. Two of his Ethics Team go undercover and piece together a frightening picture of depravity and wickedness.

Luke is shocked to discover that celebrities are using their fame to exploit and abuse fans. He takes the evidence to GNE’s executive management but they refuse to take action.

Little does he know that what they have uncovered is only the tip of the iceberg. A serial killer is taking advantage of the culture of secrecy and no one is safe.

Fog of Silence is the third gripping instalment in the Luke Sackville crime series. If you like a team you can root for, you’ll love this thriller. Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, LJ Ross, JM Dalgleish, David J Gatward and Alex Smith.

Really enjoyed it.

Unlike the other reviewers so far I really enjoyed this third book in the Luke Sackville series. Like meeting up with old friends. I thought it well written and an addictive listen. The storyline is interesting and topical. There is tension and humour throughout this fast paced novel. Well done Steve and I look forward to the next instalment. Samuel James narration is outstanding and really breathes heart in to the characters. Highly Recommended.

fog

Brilliant narration from Samuel James, who brings out the characters, angst and action.

We meet Luke and his team who are part of the Ethics Division at Filchers. They are called to work on cases for the company or those they are in business with. They are investigating celebrity parties that may be inappropriate. Soon what seems a straightforward investigation, soon turns into a hunt for a serial killer.

Enjoyable

I sort of agree about Josh getting to be irritating however, I think that’s mostly because the narrator has given him such a querulous voice. Maybe toned down he’d sound young but not weedy.
Another great yarn and the characters are getting more and more into their stride!

OK although perhaps a little too light weight.

This story was not as good as the previous one. It seemed to stretch the bounds of credibility a little too far. The character of Josh is becoming a little nauseating and childish to be quite believable.

So disappointed

I have thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, great storylines, characters and a clever and different approach to writing a crime/ investigative series. Unfortunately I personally found this third instalment poor - the storyline was weak and some of the characters have started to become cliched and rather cringy, it almost felt as if it had been written by a completely different person.
Really disappointing.

Not as good as the previous books

Really loved the previous 2 books but found this one quite tiresome and tedious, quite disappointing. Josh has become very irritating a parody of a character now. Hopefully the next one will be back on form.
