Summary
Diana Gabaldon's magnificent historical saga, begun with Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber, continues with this New York Times best seller. Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first.
Now that Claire knows Jamie survived the slaughter at Culloden, she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. She aches to travel back through time again to find the love of her life, but, in order to do that, she must leave their daughter behind. It has been 20 years since she and Jamie were forced to separate. Can she risk everything, maybe even her life, on a gamble that their love has withstood the long, rigorous test of time?
Diana Gabaldon's powerful, witty, and heroic characters lend themselves well to the rich, melodic narration accorded them by Davina Porter. Under her spell, listeners find themselves transported back through time to exciting faraway places alive with people they would enjoy knowing.

Love the series- American accent was challenging
What made the experience of listening to Voyager the most enjoyable?
I really enjoyed the story, and Davina Porter's intonation.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes
Any additional comments?
The American accent was so bad it almost made me want to stop listening. It was cringe worthy. I am so glad that Brie wasn't in the second part of the book as a talking character.

happy ending
an intro to outlander book four, something to look forward to.
now I have to dig it out. this story could very easily take over my life.
an occasional alternative story makes a welcome change, but outlander always calls me back. read the outlander series in sequence, you will not be disappointed.

Shame about the voice
I love these books, there is something believable about them, but, like another reviewer, I find the love scenes somewhat prolonged. I didn't notice it in the first book, but the intimate details have gradually progressed. I do have one gripe however - Davina Porter's voice grates - she does differentiate quite clearly between the characters, but her silly, little girl voice for Clare drives me mad! Because of this I'm very tempted to get book 4 in paperback.

Thrilling adventure
Absolutely love this series. The detailing of the time is outstanding that you can really loose yourself in the book. The audio reader is a joy to listen to you. I find the series gripping and thrilling to listen to. At times very funny. Can't wait to start the the book.
