Summary
After surviving the trials of Freedom, Lucius enters the next stage of the military's super soldier creation scheme.
Medieval weaponry and gritty fantasy combat are a thing of the past. He must bring what he's learned to the modern battlefield.
Fighting futuristic tech isn't his only challenge. He'll go head-to-head against Genesis participants—enlisted military personnel who unlocked their psionics a year before Freedom began.
Will his emerging psionic abilities and hard-earned experience be enough?

If your not the impatient type you'll be fine
It's a real mixed bag when it comes to authors following up with the next instalment in a series. Nearly all the LITRPG books are a series and you get some that are massively prolific, like The Wandering Inn series which are huge in sheer length and come out 2 or 3 times a year. This is not a series like that and Apollos Thorne is certainly one of the slower authors to update a series.
I've read his other stuff and it usually starts strong and falls away slightly as you go in entertainment value. It could be 2026 or 2027 going of his record with this series before we get another volume but I am not too bothered as I say it hasn't exactly left me gagging for more. The difficulty is I had to listen to the whole series again to remind what the hell it was all about and I don't know if I can honestly be assed doing that again. Part of the reason I'm writing this review is remind myself what a pain in the backside it all was. The book is OK but a filler rather anyting I'm really anticipating.

A bit repatative
It feels a lot like previous books, which is not so bad since I liked the previous books, but there is less progress for the main plot then I expected.

Great book but some suggestions
This book is amazing. It's one of the few books which contain a MC who is not an OP giant. He is good, better than most infact but he isn't the best at absolutely everything. He struggles, he is resilient and perseveres with grit and determination.
There's a romeo and julliet aspect to this book. It's interesting. Not usually into romance but it does grow on you...
One thing that has gotten on my nerves however are the technical names of the abilities. without any frame of reference I hear an ability and the actual skill goes over mu head. Author if you are reading this can you release an accompanying PDF with all of the skills and their descriptions. Otherwise, change their names into something more memorable...
Definitely my favourite book, the narrator was top tier!

Great narrator engaging story
If you liked the others in the series then this is a great addition.
I don't like the fact that even by the end of the book they are still lagging behind the the army genesis crowd. And fail to defeat the big baddy when 2 lots of army succeeded.
