Summary
A man called Milton walks into town....
On the run from his own demons, John Milton treks through the Michigan wilderness into the town of Truth. He's not looking for trouble, but trouble's looking for him. He finds himself up against a small-town cop who has no idea with whom he is dealing and no idea how dangerous he is.
But Milton is double crossed and badly injured. Unarmed and alone, he flees into the remote Porcupine Mountains with a posse on his tail. His enemies thought they could hunt him down. That was a mistake, and, where Milton is concerned, one mistake is all you get.
From best-selling author Mark Dawson (the John Milton and Beatrix Rose series), The Sword of God is the fifth in the acclaimed series of thrillers that listeners love. Mark Dawson has worked as a lawyer and currently works in the London film industry. His first books, The Art of Falling Apart and Subpoena Colada have been published in multiple languages.

Can't get enough of this fantastic series..
The John Milton Series just keeps on delivering! The Sword Of God is the fifth instalment, and a really enjoyable tale with Milton the subject of a hunt in the Michigan wilderness. Having agreed to help a young lady locate her brother, Milton soon stumbles across a much bigger plot, that puts many lives in danger. Badly injured, Milton needs to keep the hunting party off his back, whilst trying to put together the clues as to what his opponent's objectives are.
Superbly narrated by David Thorpe once again.
Highly recommended.

Fast paced action but didn't like the style
Felt more like a text narration to a movie for visually impaired than a storytelling

Enjoyable
This was an light, yet enjoyable listen, made my indoor rowing much less boring. Story line very similar to Lee Child's Die Trying novel. I wonder where Dawson got his inspiration.

Brilliant
John Milton outclasses Reacher. Initially I thought the story was going to be a rehash of First Blood. However it was better in all respects. Mark Dawson's books are a rollercoaster of action.

Good storyline
I found this book enjoyable and well read. It's scary to think that these kinds of fanatical people do exist. Good characters and an interesting storyline. I like Milton and am keen to read more Mark Dawson books, despite some bad reviews I read that nearly put me off listening to any of his books!
