Summary
In 1944, American naval officer Lt. Wyatt Paxton arrives in London to prepare for the Allied invasion of France. He works closely with Dorothy Fairfax, a "Wren" in the Women's Royal Naval Service. Dorothy pieces together reconnaissance photographs with thousands of holiday snapshots of France - including those of her own family's summer home - in order to create accurate maps of Normandy. Maps that Wyatt will turn into naval bombardment plans.
As the two spend concentrated time together in the pressure cooker of war, their deepening friendship threatens to turn to love. Dorothy must resist its pull. Her bereaved father depends on her, and her heart already belongs to another man. Wyatt too has much to lose. The closer he gets to Dorothy, the more he fears his efforts to win the war will destroy everything she has ever loved. The tense days leading up to the monumental D-Day landing blaze to life under Sarah Sundin's practiced pen with this powerful new series.

Spoilt by narrator
As others have said, this ok story was completely spoilt by the American narrator. Whilst she put on a great English accent for the English characters, her American pronunciation of certain words - Edinburrow, dooty, Dorthy, etc - was cringeworthy and almost made me give up, it grated so much. Such a shame.

Nice Story
Enjoyed the plot.
The narration grated on me, somehow the American pronunciations sounded worse when done in a British accent.

Terrible narration
The narrator is unable to pronounce UK English. Some inaccuracies are totally acceptable but she cannot pronounce key words - Dorothy, Lawrence, Edinburgh. It grated so badly I’m driven to leave a bad review!

Grating pronunciation of English words
The story is interesting enough to keep interest but the incorrect pronunciation was too frequent to ignore and became very distracting and annoying. Also, I felt like history was being rewritten listening to D-Day from the American perceptive!

Not the best
Already other readers have commented negatively on the failure of the narrator to use the correct pronunciation of English words.
However, it is quite unforgiveable to state at least twice that two shillings was called half-a- crown.
Research of facts is vital for authenticity.
