About this listen

A delightfully magical story for kids that features a recipe at the end for a sweet treat!

Nine-year-old Violet loves spending time in her Aunt Abigail's flower shop in their small British town. And she's so excited to stay overnight with her Aunt Abigail for the first time! But when Aunt Abigail has to leave to deal with an emergency, Violet and her friends, twins Jack and Zack, start poking around - and discover that her aunt owns an ancient magical flower book and uses her flower magic to make people happy!

Violet wants to do that, too. Her first mission: making a match between two of her teachers. Unfortunately, it all goes wrong! Until Aunt Abigail comes to the rescue, that is. It's not long until Violet finds another opportunity to test out some magic: helping her classmate Fiorella, who's deeply unhappy even though she's an amazing piano player. Can Violet help Fiorella stand up for what she wants? Or is there more magical mayhem in store?

Weird American narration

The story is based in the UK but weirdly it is narrated by an American who is rivalling Dick van Dyke for oddest British accent ever. I expect this is fine for US listeners but it is painful for this UK listener. Had to stop because it was grating so much.

Great relaxing feel good story

Not too eventful or stressful it's a real pity the other books in the series aren't translated into English only available in German as I'd be willing to buy the whole collection & listen to more books from this author. Same narrator as the Batts confectionery book series that has a similar easy listening style.
The parrot 🦜 was a nice funny character

Short and sweet

A lovely sweet magical short middle grade story.

Great small set of characters and magical elements of flowers and good moral to story.

Too short

I love flowers. They make things look pretty. But, this book made flowers even better! Sadly, it was short. Plus, the accents were weird. I am a British child so I think the accent was wrong! Otherwise: I love it xx ♥️
