Summary

Christmas, 1930. An exiled Balkan king, living incognito in rural Suffolk, is shot dead in his secluded mansion following a meeting with the local vicar, Reverend Lucian Shaw.

Special Branch detectives are soon on the trail of sinister agents of a foreign power that they think are responsible, but Shaw begins to realize that the culprit could be much closer to home.

Observation, cogitation, meditation, and prayer lead him down a dangerous road toward a desperate killer who will stop at nothing to evade capture.

It’s ok

It’s meant to be written in the style of the great crime writers but it’s lacking something.

Sorry, this one failed me.

An escape of a King from a worker’s uprising to the not so safer shores of England and some confected nonsense about a lazy husband whose left wing principles prevent him from taking a job. I gave up half way through first chapter. Life is too short! The reader is excellent - shame about the storyline.

Very predictable

Good narrator. Ridiculous story. Characters were uninteresting. I guessed the killer at the beginning.

Disappointing

Plot was like a 1950’s B movie. Dialogue was stilted. I enjoyed A Third Class Murder which prompted me to buy this. I should have saved my time and money.
