Summary
Set on a lush Greek island, The Greek Escape by Karen Swan is a Sunday Times bestseller, and the perfect getaway for fans of Victoria Hislop and Santa Montefiore.
'This irresistible story will sweep you right up into its pages and keep you there' – Heat
Before every new beginning, there must be an ending . . .
Running from heartbreak, Chloe Marston leaves her old life in London for a fresh start in New York. Working at a luxury concierge company, she makes other people’s lives run perfectly, even if her own has ground to a halt.
Then, a terrible accident forces her to step into a new role, up close and personal with the company’s most esteemed and powerful clients. Charismatic Joe Lincoln is one of them and his every wish is her command. So, when he asks her to find him a secluded holiday home in the Greek Islands, she sets about sourcing the perfect retreat.
But when Tom, her ex, unexpectedly shows up in Manhattan, the stability of her new life is thrown off-balance again. So she jumps at the chance to help Joe inspect the holiday house; escaping to Greece will give her the time and space to decide where her future truly lies.
Tom is the man she has loved for so long, but he has hurt her before – can she give him another chance?
And as she draws closer to Joe, does she even want to? As magnetic as he is mysterious, there’s an undeniable chemistry between them that she can’t resist.
Whatever her heart is telling her, Chloe is in over her head – another client’s wife has mysteriously disappeared, and serious allegations about Joe threaten more than just her happiness.
Who can she trust? And will she uncover the truth in time?
'A charming, well-crafted tale of love, loss and reinvention' – Marie Claire

Slow starter
Usually I am hooked instantly by Karen’s books but this one took a bit of a while to warm up for me.
However, once I’d gotten into it I couldn’t stop listening! I didn’t want it to end and was left desperately wanting to know more about the characters lives after the story had ended!
Fingers crossed for a sequel !!

Love this book
This is the third Karen Swan and I think it is my favourite so far.
Very easy listen and nice story. I would describe it as a good holiday read.
The narrator was good too and that is always a make or break for me.
I’m looking forward to Karen’s new book which is due in a couple of weeks

Heartfelt & Lovely
A simple premise that gets much deeper and more intricate. It's well thought out and just makes the heart melt. Very satisfied with the ending. Definitely worth a read or a listen.

Good once past the slow beginning.
As others have said,a slow start, I almost speeded up the narration but once got going a great listen and left one wanting more.

Interesting story from start to end
I loved this book, took me away from day to day life to be immersed in the story of Chloe and her work and personal life. Twists and turns along the way, would definitely recommend. I didn’t guess the ending which is always lovely.

Fantastic story
I think this is my favourite Karen Swan book out of the four I have listened too. The Secret Path is a close second. A really top class 'who dunnit' with romance and excitement thrown in, Keeps you guessing nearly right until the end (even if you have some theories).Highly recommend. I really liked the narrator, to me she suited the book and main character.

Overall good story but a bit long
I like Karen Swan’s book and they are interesting.
However I found the first half of the book way too long and dragging a bit too long.
The last 3 hours of the book is the best but the story is pretty much pretty obvious, so not too much surprise.
Overall just a 4/5

Fantastic book
I was initially put off my the lack of Katie Scarfe reading the book, but shouldn’t have been. The book is fantastic and the narrator fit the story beautifully, with wonderful accents and emotion. If you liked The Rome Affair by Karen Swan then you will love this book.
