Summary

Set amongst the snow-covered mountains of the Austrian Alps, Midnight in the Snow is the story of a forbidden attraction that will reveal long-buried secrets, from Sunday Times bestselling author of Christmas at Tiffany's, Karen Swan.

Award-winning director Clover Phillips is riding high when she encounters Kit Foley; a surfer and snowboarder as well-known for controversy as he is for winning championships.

Involved in an accident that had devastating consequences for a bitter rival, Kit has never spoken about what really happened that day. Determined to find out the truth, Clover heads to the snowy wilderness of the Austrian Alps, sharing a romantic winter wonderland with a man who can’t stand her.

But as she delves deeper, Clover finds herself both drawn to Kit and even more convinced he’s hiding something. Is Kit Foley really as cold as he seems?

love love love

I adore Karen Swan books and this is by far my favourite. It's my go-to source of escapism and I've lost track of the amount of times I've read and listened to it. It's just easy and enjoyable but so carefully considered and researched. Kit is a great character - interesting, layered and so appealing. Clover is wonderful too. There's a hint of pride and prejudice to their relationship I feel. She, too quick to judge / asume and he too guarded. Their chemistry is brilliant. Superb.

Another great Karen Swan story

Love this book. Well researched as all of Karen Swans books are. A great story with all her usual twists and turns. Narrator really brings it to life.

Worth waiting for

I really look forward to Karen Swan’s twice yearly books, and some of them are in my list of my favourite ever novels. Her research must be very extensive, as they are always set in different parts of the world and in different spheres of life, be it sport, high finance, the art world and so on. I love the fact that I learn a bit about other interests and locations, as well as enjoying a good story with a bit of love interest thrown in. I don’t think this will be one of those I listen to more than once as I have some of them, but it is still a really good read or listen, with compelling characters, and a mystery that threads it’s way through the story to the end. Nice romantic ending too, and absolutely perfect narration.

Not a cheerful book, don't expect a cosy read ..

Miserable, moody male main character, Heavy story line. Not a good Christmas /cosy read. Had to eat Christmas food to get over it

So drawn out

The plot was pretty obvious but so tediously drawn out and laboured. It her usual standard
