About this listen
Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!
Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.
The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.
The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.
In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?
In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.
In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.
In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.
Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

"Jordan has a powerful vision of good and evil - but what strikes me as most pleasurable...is all the fascinating people moving through a rich and interesting world." (Orson Scott Card on The Wheel of Time)

Brandon Sanderson does it again
Having stumbled upon the wheel of time quite late (2 years ago) I found myself eagerly anticipating Brandon Sandersons continuation of the series. The late Robert Jordan I'm sure would be proud of the service Brandon has done for him as this book was amazing in my opinion, after a couple of slow books before it's really got me excited again, I truly am going to be sad when I finish this series, on to book 13!

Incredible
Very good narrations. Excellent storytelling and character development. Good memory is mandatory. Brandon Sanderson is worthy.

A great sequence!
Amazing thriller, can’t stop listening! Sanderson’s text makes tribute to the original. I am glad that the story continues further.

What's to say?
If you're looking at Book 12, you're already hooked. If you've read the books and want to know whether it's worth listening to the audios then YES. For me, it meant I could engage with the story in a completely new way. I was able to continue with the humdrum routines while plugged into the world of Rand, Perrin, Mat, Egwene, Nyneave...
The books are heavy - it's really hard hoovering while holding one!

The Begining of the end
"The Gathering Storm" is the first part of the final instalment of the Wheel of Time, the epic fantasy series started by Robert Jordan all those years ago. For years myself & everyone else I met who loved the series kept on saying... "What happens if Robert Jordan dies before he finishes the series" well unfortunately that happened Mr Jordan passed away before finished WOT, thankfully it wasn't suddenly and he was able to prepare numerous notes... Brandon Sanderson was selected by Harriet (Mr Jordans wife) to complete the series and in my humble opinion he does a fairly descent job; he obviously doesn't try to emulate Mr Jordans style (& rightly so) but does an admirable job...
I really enjoy the Michael Kramer portions of the book, he has created voices for each character and his reaqding voice is fantastic... Wish I could say the same for Kate Reading, she mispronounce quite a lot of things the worst being one of the major characters names :S but hey it's such a great story that I can put up with it to get to the end

echo on the male voice
there's a weird echo on the male voice in this version which makes the listen kind of hard.

Amazing reinvigorating of the wheel of time!!
Sanderson has got me fully gripped back into this epic series! by book 11 I had become a bit jaded by the sheer length and meandering nature of these books, but sanderson has brought new life and vigour to the story telling while remaining true to the elements that have kept me listening so long. Brilliantly told and I cannot wait for the final 2 episodes!!

WOW Getting Good!
Smashing! back on track with a decent edition. Needed a new author to steer this juggernaut of a series back on track. Really enjoyed each characters story and finally Rand started to become the badass he needed to be.

Excellent
God how much better the books are narrated by Kate Reading and Michael Kramer! The swedish narrators werent -bad- per say but its a whole new experience with Kate and Michael. Sadly the quality dipped now and then with some clippings in sound but overall it was good.
