Audie Award Nominee, Fantasy, 2013

Acclaimed author Michael J. Sullivan created instant best sellers with his spellbinding Riyria Revelations series. This first volume introduces Royce Melborn and Hadrian Blackwater, two enterprising thieves who end up running for their lives when they’re framed for the death of the king. Brilliant!

Having picked up The Jester on Audible, simply because it was free, I had to get the full story. I was instantly hooked and loved the two main characters and had to find out more. The Theft of Swords contains the first two books of the six part series and they lived up to my expectations of a great story, and more! Highly recommended if you enjoy fantasy/action and read brilliantly. Now I can't wait to get the rest!

GOOD BOOK

I have over 300 audible titles and I have to say that the narration and performance of this book is one of the best I've heard. It's a compelling universe with a great story and awesome characters. I can't wait for a sequel.

It still holds

Reread 2024
Just to freshen up memory, I went back into the first two books of the Riyria Revelations to get back into the story and also to see how I react to the story now, more than a year later.

The story holds. It is still very much engaging, entertaining and the stakes are high and, you cannot beat the banter between our two main characters, who are, we know from the beginning destined for great deeds (or not).

Review 2023
Having read a more recent release by Michael J. Sullivan first, I was unsure how I would like his earlier books.

However, when I started to listen to Theft of Swords I got so quickly absorbed into the world and the events, in the end, I blasted through this bind up that holds the first two books in the Riyria Revelations..

It was entertaining, scary, amazing and it holds such an amazing bunch of characters. Yes, I would say, Theft of Swords is that good.

Thank you for writing these books, Michael J. Sullivan.

And Tim Gerard Reynolds does an amazing job with narrating. It is a treat to listen to the audiobook.

volume 1 only

i download vol 1 only in error with the comment at the end that it is downloaded in two parts. disappointed with that, as i have downloaded books much longer with ease. however vol. 1 was interesting with gobbets of humour and unexpected twists. it also had the heroism of the main characters which gave a 'feelgood' factor to the story. i have since found the whole book in one volume with a different title, so be aware.

Enjoyable Read

Colourful Characters you warm to. Good gentle humour between them. Interesting and varied story just right to escape into without getting heavy. Looking forward to the next one that I have ready to read.

For the love of Adventure books

I was brought to this series by two free books on Audible. They were short stories from the Ryria characters. I love the pace, the attention to detail, the suspense, the mystery, the action and the characters. Brilliantly narrated and extremely well produced
