About this listen
Dive into the #1 best-selling mystery series listeners are comparing to Connelly, Patterson, and Baldacci.
How do you catch a killer who's already behind bars?
Thomas Austin was once a prominent NYPD detective, known for locking up a psychopathic serial killer dubbed "The Holiday Baby Butcher". Now retired in a small beach town in the Pacific Northwest, Austin runs a little café, trying to overcome the loss of his wife, a district attorney who was gunned down only one year ago.
But when a mysterious bag of bones appears on a nearby beach, Austin is dragged back into law enforcement for one last job. The Holiday Baby Butcher is behind bars, so it has to be a copycat.
But with each new clue, the killer seems closer and closer to the real thing. Now Austin must overcome the darkness of his past to chase a killer as twisted as any America has ever seen. And when Austin finally learns the truth, it's a twist so shocking it shakes him to his core, and threatens his life.
The Bones of Point No Point is the mesmerizing debut crime thriller from D.D. Black, perfect for fans of James Patterson, Lisa Regan, Michael Connelly, and David Baldacci.

"A burnt toast taste of dread."
A killer who'd stolen and murdered babies. The man who'd put her in prison then left the police and New York, moving into the sticks to run a cafe and sell fishing bait. And then the killing started again
First in a new series featuring Thomas Austin, a recently widowed ex detective with a taste affliction which mirrors his emotions, this is one to look out for into the future.
Excellently performed by narrator Joe Hempel, this well written thriller was intriguing from the opening paragraphs to the very end. Recommended

Brilliant.
I loved this book, It is the first D.D Black I have read and certainly hope it will not be the last. The characters are well developed and the story well written. An ex NYPD detective reluctantly drawn in to a murder and kidnapping 20 years after putting a murderer way discovers too many similarities for it to be coincidence. A Little predictable but exciting edge of the seat stuff from start to finish. All ably rounded of by superb narration by Joe Hempel, this is a definite must listen! **********
Cannot wait for the next installment.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest and unbiased review. *****

Wow what a listen - absolutely brilliant
Just loved this, so addictive so well written so well narrated. What a dark mind to come up with this plot though, it was amazing but also believable if that makes sense.
I had several late nights whilst listening to this. I cannot wait to read/listen to anything more by this combination of author and narrator.

Loved the story, great atmosphere and descriptions of Washington state in winter. loved Joe Hempel's narration brought the characters to life.
