About this listen
The phenomenal fifth book in the Hunger Games series!
Acclaimed actor Jefferson White, who starred in Paramount Network's Yellowstone as Jimmy Hurdstrom, brings his talent to the worldwide best-selling Hunger Games series as narrator of the Sunrise on the Reaping audiobook!
When you've been set up
to lose everything you love,
what is there left to fight for?
As the day dawns on the fiftieth annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem. This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes.
Back in District 12, Haymitch Abernathy is trying not to think too hard about his chances. All he cares about is making it through the day and being with the girl he loves.
When Haymitch's name is called, he can feel all his dreams break. He's torn from his family and his love, shuttled to the Capitol with the three other District 12 tributes: a young friend who's nearly a sister to him, a compulsive oddsmaker, and the most stuck-up girl in town. As the Games begin, Haymitch understands he's been set up to fail. But there's something in him that wants to fight . . . and have that fight reverberate far beyond the deadly arena.

Best book in the series
I lived how characters, old and new, were portrayed in this novel. Honestly made me cry at the end, "I love you like all-fire."
The performance from Jefferson White was amazing and I really believed he WAS Haymitch.

Even Better than the Last One
I could tell the narrator was invested in the story. He had me in tears at one point. Haymitch’s life (before we first met him at 74th Games) was a rollercoaster of pain and sorrow that just gutted me to my core. This book had me gripped the whole way through. Fans of the Hunger Games will not be disappointed. Newcomers to the franchise will be inspired to explore the world of Panem, and the other 5 books.

Extremely good and moving
Probably the most emotional and moving book out of the series really makes me appreciate Haymitch more and helps add to how evil snow is. 10/10

Heartbreakingly beautiful
Suzanne Collins did it again! This book is heartbreaking, captivating, and beautiful story of resistance. The narrator brings Haymitch's thoughts alive in such a brilliant manner.

Amazing narration
I'm Half way through the book and I must say that Jefferson White does an absolutely phenomenal performance.
Never have I felt a narrator fit so perfect, I truly felt the emotion and anxiety of which the scenes are supposed to portray. I hope he is chosen should a live action film be in the works as I guarantee no other actor could have such an impact playing a young Haymitch.
