Summary
Are you going to die tonight?
Silent Scream is the compulsive second and final instalment in the Minneapolis series, by Sunday Times bestselling author Karen Rose.
She was in the wrong place at the wrong time....
An environmental protest turns deadly when a young girl becomes trapped in a burning building. Four students callously leave her to die but have they made the biggest mistake of their lives?
For the ruthless blackmailer watching from the shadows, the students' error is a gift. He'll do whatever it takes to succeed and now he has the perfect candidates to do his dirty work.
Firefighter David Hunter knows the devastation that fires can bring, but even he is shocked to find a body inside the blazing building he is trying to save. David vows to help homicide detective Olivia Sutherland find those responsible, but they are about to find that this blackmailer's plan goes far beyond anything they could have imagined....

Another great read
Karen Rose definitely has a magic formula. With the main characters having appeared in a previous book you feel like you know them already. Can't wait for the next one.

The narrator!
I like the continuity of the story. But the narrator made the characters sound weird!

Not One of Her Best
The only thing I like about this book was the story line. Some of the bad points for me where it had a lot of bad language in it which wasn't necessary. I also read the first book in the series and the way the character's are portrayed in each of the books are so different I hated the fact that in this book Olivia is portrayed weak and always looking for the men's approval and I will not be listing to any book narrated by Tara Ward in the future she really bad at speaking in different accent's she really does the book an injustice and I know she is the reason why I think this book has a lot of bad points because I love Karen Rose and have always love reading her books

annoying narrating
What did you like best about Silent Scream? What did you like least?
it's a typical Karen Rose book, it's lovely to 'meet' character from other Karen Rose books.
I just wish the whole porn aspect wasn't there, it's not really great when listening when there are other ppl around esp children. That's the one thing I don't like about her books
Would you be willing to try another one of Tara Ward’s performances?
No. her annoying habit of giving characters weird accents depending on their names completely ruins the book for me.
Any additional comments?
I wish they wouldn't use Tara Ward to narrate as she seems to be incapable to give characters different voices other than fake accents, so off putting

Awful narrator
Would be a five star, I enjoyed the story and the characterisation but the narrator is a constant distraction. She obviously believes she can do accents and her Irish isn't bad but she cannot control it and it seeps into French, Italian and everything else to the point where I have to rewind to check who is actually speaking. Why can't she just read the book???

Not a good book
The story is muddled. The reader gives unnecessary emphasis to the male and female characters so the reading is not pleasant.
