Summary

"Becoming a Dodge Tank was just the beginning."

The world boss is defeated, but Ryan’s troubles are far from over.

Transported to a new world, Ryan and his friends must figure out how to save their home city of Citadel while learning to survive in a game world where death is now all too real.

But first, Ryan must keep his promise to Val Helena, and he sets out on a dangerous quest to the Vale of Sorrows to defeat the Shadow King. With an enemy 10 times stronger than a world boss, Ryan will have to do some serious leveling up as a Dodge Tank to be fit for task.

But when he encounters a fellow gamer with an agenda of his own, Ryan finds his plans not only derailed, but his very life threatened by an enemy of his own making!

Ryan will have to grow in both level and maturity to face the difficult struggles ahead. But the game has more secrets to reveal, and the enemy lying just below the surface may be more terrifying than anything he could have imagined.

Mc is sooooooo annoying

This is where this story ends for me. The mc is irritating maybe this is written for a younger crowd idk but it’s a shame I liked where the story was going just can take the childish panic and ponderings anymore

Great Story

I only started listening to this one 2 days ago but the story gripped me in a way I never thought possible.

After the end of the first book, I didn't think the story could get better but as this went on, it got better and better right up to the cliffhanger ending.

off to listen to the third which hopefully is just as good

great story

the story was seriously epic going to start on book three now and I'm pretty sure Gilly comes back right because that would be annoying a bit another book series that did that and it really ticked me off

I won't be continuing

This installment felt rushed. Grammar errors kept jumping out at me, sometimes the characters started adopting the same speech patterns. There was a little of this in the first book, but it happened much more in this book. Words are misused, for example: "Molten Fire." WTF is molten fire? I know what molten rock is, or metal, but fire? A few skills/abilities/powers suddenly acquired new names with no explanation of why. Word repetition is also a problem as "A goddess smile" is used a billion times. I also hate how the MC miraculously succeeds every time he uses an insta-kill ability in spite of us being told that it's a low percent chance to succeed. It didn't build tension or drama, it just inspired eye rolls.

Most importantly the ending is BS. No major goals stated in the first book or second book are accomplished. The story just ends on a cliffhanger. I would have kept listening to future books if the author respected his customers enough to finish the story he started, but it appears that this is not the case. It's just more and more future objectives talked about for some other book, and absolutely no resolution. Goodbye, CS Online.
