Summary

Ever since he joined Omega Force, Captain Jason Burke has lived with the underlying fear that one day Earth would be discovered. His desire to keep Earth's existence and location a secret has driven him to extremes, and kept him far away from his homeworld for a long time. But now Jason's greatest fear is realized, and a fleet of alien ships has attacked his planet. Omega Force rushes to Earth's defense, but the ships are like none they've ever encountered, and employ weapons they have no defense for. Will their lone gunship be able to slug it out with the unknown fleet holding the planet hostage? Or will this be a one-way trip for the crew of the Phoenix?

The usual good stuff from Dalzelle

Further adventures of the Phoenix and its crew of mercenaries with a heart. All good stuff, with lots of excitement in a fairly linear story. This is great for listening without thinking too much.

Oh dear, a serious drop in quality.

I enjoyed the first two books even though the writing was quite amateurish. This has taken a turn for the worse with the main character turning into a half wit. Struggling to finish it.

Errr?

Sorry can't stick around. I just whizzed through this one in a day and I have an urgent appointment with book 4.
If you read this review take my advice & begin with Book 1 Of the Omega Force series. You will NOT be disappointed but you may well become addicted if you like Space Operas (I don't like that term) How about Sci-fi shoot 'em ups with a sense of humour?. Umm?.. Well you get the point... Bye!

yet another great listen

Yet another great story full of good characterisations as you build-up your knowledge of the crew of The Phoenix.
The Narration is top notch and you get a feeling that you are in the story the whole time. I use these audio books to filling time As I drive around doing my job and believe you me I thoroughly look forward to the moments I get back in my car and have to drive 2M from home doing my job.
I can see the story line developing well as we meet more species of aliens and try to see where earths Integration is going to map out in the growing world outside our hemispheres.
