About this listen
Brave, badass warriors who serve their country with honor and love their women to the limits of life and death.
In a dangerous profession where it's kill or be killed, Mason undertakes the dirty jobs others would rather not do - and invariably don't possess the skills he does to get done right. While on an assignment, he's single-minded in his dedication and focus. When he's not, this warrior plays as hard as he fights. The last thing he anticipates is meeting the one woman he wants but can't have...and equally can't forget.
Tesla, a software designer, lost her brother in combat. Getting close to another man enlisted in the military is something she refuses to do. In her quest to save other United States soldiers from her sibling's tragic fate, she's created a computer program capable of saving lives. When other countries find out about the program, her good intentions are met with hostility and greed. They won't stop until they get their hands on it, and damn anyone who gets in the way. Realizing she's in danger, Tesla turns to Mason, the only man who might be able to save her - the very one she doesn't dare fall in love with.

Short and sweet
Tesla is one tough cookie! She may need rescuing (repeatedly) but she's no one's damsel in distress! I love how she fitted into the team dynamic and the other guys constantly wanting Mason to tell them if he's 'keeping her' or if they have a chance. Mason is as impressed with her as everyone else, but he's reluctant to accept that she's it for him. They make a great couple, with his strength supporting hers instead of trying to dominate and control. It's very clear throughout that he respects her and her work, which adds to the connection between them.
Tesla has some unpleasant experiences, but the story is light and there's a lot of humour. The sheer number of times she ends up in trouble becomes amusing as well. The ending is great: sweet and funny at the same time. The story is mostly plot driven, with one sex scene and the balance was perfect for the short length.

Tesla is an idiot
Very little character development for any of the characters. For a woman who was raised by two soldiers Tesla is awful at any form of self defence, she gets kidnapped three times and not once does she fight back, she doesn’t ever check her surroundings despite the fact she is kidnapped the same way each time - hit over the head from behind.
