Summary

On 19th July 2016, Claire and Charlotte Hart were murdered, in broad daylight, by the family's father. He shot his wife and daughter with a sawn-off shotgun before committing suicide.

Remembered Forever is the shocking story of what led to this terrible crime. Luke and Ryan Hart, the family's two surviving sons, lived under the terror of coercive control. Their father believed that his family members were simply possessions, never referring to them by their names...just as Woman, Boy, Girl. Written by the boys, but laced with the voices of Claire and Charlotte, this gripping and moving account brings deeper understanding to the shocking crime of domestic abuse and homicide.

Luke and Ryan Hart have become spokespeople for the victims who are so often silenced but must never be forgotten.

Preaching, sanctimonious, patronising

There are parts of this story that are so moving I had to stop what I was doing.
There are parts of this story that are so awe-inspiring it feels like the authors might start a revolution - victims of DV finally being listened to. Afterall, men talking about how disgusting and insidious chauvinism is might finally get it taken seriously
But the rest of this book is a monologue of patronising, pontificating, preaching crap.
I don’t say this lightly given the subject matter.
These two men obviously adored their mother and sister and went through (still go through) utter agony. But the editors of this piece really REALLY should have cut down (edited....do you job) the long winded introspection which is quite frankly repeated ad nauseum.
“We had to self amputate parts of ourself”
“We have become experts in ....”
Its horrendously written.

practical and informative as well inspirational

This book will give you an accurate picture of what coercive control is and why it is such a serious issue that deserves more attention. The authors provide real life examples of scenarios from their own experience of living with an abusive parent and how he got away with it. They also provide practical everyday advice for helping other families and recognising the signs of domestic abuse. They explain very clearly how this sort of abuse is linked directly to paternalistic attitudes and how we can change our society for the better.

Honest, tragic, articulate.

A chilling yet heart warming account of two brothers who lost their mother and sister to theirs dads violence. This is a brilliantly articulate account of coercive control and the less well defined emotional, financial and psychological abuse. It will make you cry!

Wow I can say anymore.
Courage, resilience is what I can describe the journey of these 2 brothers and their mom and sister. Thank for creating the awareness and transform something so horrendous into something positive that will help many people.

Wow! A tragic story told so articulately.

Heart breaking at times but necessary.

All social workers and teachers should read this and also journalists!

Also told with all of the victims as the focus and not the perpetrator.

Finally an inspiration of how they have used this tragedy to help others. Your mum and sister would be so proud of you both.
