Hidden Scars
This touching self-help memoir unveils the personal experience of abuse within a relationship. As a man listening to this, I could not help but think about my past failed relationships and wish I had a handbook to help me avoid the Trauma Bonds that could have kept me from finding the wrong women in my life. I never thought about it as trauma or even considered it until teaching during the pandemic. I saw firsthand the expressions but only through their eyes revealed over the face mask. Abuse is bad, and should not be tolerated, no matter the sex, age, or color of one's skin. The key is to understand the symptoms or signs of an abusive relationship. I was a victim of an abusive, controlling relationship, and I was in full denial when former close friends tried to tell me to RUN. Listen and learn.

Informative
Got this book for my cousin as she had always made poor decisions with men, and I wanted her to get her acts together.
She loved the book and thanked me for inspiring her to free her mind and start afresh. And hopefully, make the right decisions in the future.
The narration of the book was good and pleasing to the ear. The content, as discussed above, was adequate.

An important topic
This book covers an important topic about women, which is often going under the radar. The amount of abuse women face is alarming, yet not getting the appropriate headlines of focus. There are lots of stats shared to bring this to life, showing how significant the issue is yet going unnoticed.
The author shares her personal stories and a series of relatable stories to help women connect to the problem and see what's going on whilst providing a way out for women. Women who have gone through any form of abuse would find this relevant as it offers clues & insights to see what's going on and why. A thought-provoking listen.

Great book
I think this is a great start to educating yourself on trauma bonds - whether you're in a toxic relationship or getting out of one, or just want to understand why you are attracted to the wrong kind of men. This book is eye opening and, in a sense, made me feel relieved because I'm not the only one. It's not going to fix everything, but it's a good starting place to educate yourself. I also think it's a good resource for those who know a friend/family who are in a toxic relationship to read to get a better understanding what that person might be going through. Great read for those who are hurting, confused, this will encourage, lift you, give you the knowledge about what and why your going through and give the tools to get out.

Reveals the origins
This story in this book demonstrates where abuse starts in childhood and our self esteem is lowered it perpetuates throughout out lives until we can address our own feeling of self worth. A story you can't stop listening to. the narration is very good and goes well with the story - does not overshadow which I like. Highly recommend

Worthy For Women
I like this book as it is a sort of biography of the author where the has delivered the message by sharing their own experience. This is a good approach to protecting others from the suffering that you have suffered in your past.
This is helpful for women as all the precautions have been mentioned clearly and I think if a woman read this book then she will surely be able to protect herself from such traumas. It is a good recommendation

Wow- this is a must read!
Not only was this book informative, the author truly allowed herself to be vulnerable in sharing details of her experience with trauma bonds and the strength it took to overcome them. Most books on this topic are written by those who have never experienced such a situation and contain a lot of "data" and "studies" but no applicable and easily relatable information for the reader. This book breaks the mold and contains the personal experience and applicable objective data in easily understood language.

Understand your relational patterns
I've wondered why I keep attracting the same kind of man. About two years ago, I started exploring that. I have learnt many things about my attachments, but I felt that there was information I still didn't have that would help me process my issues. I feel like this book has provided that. The author tells her story all through the chapters, which I found helpful in humanizing the lessons. I can't recommend this book enough.
