Great resource!
As a first-time mom, I found myself referring to this audiobook over and over again in the first four months after my daughter was born. As the title states, it gives you a good idea of what to expect in the first year of baby's life, but as former reviewers have stated, only you know your baby best. Some of the basic questions can be answered by this audiobook, but as my daughter grows and we get to know each other better, I find that I refer to the book less and less. I've started to rely on my own instincts and intuition when it comes to being a mother, but still, think this book is a great reference for first-time parents.

Wonderful parenting advice.
Wonderful parenting advice. A great resource to have, especially for new parents! Gives excellent advice on feeding and sleep/wake cycles. After following the advice in the book, our baby was sleeping 8hrs at 8weeks while continuing to gain weight effectively.

Great guide to what to expect and how your baby
Great guide to what to expect and how your baby should be developing. A lot of really helpful medical and developmental information without a lot of anecdotal add-ins - just enough to give a sense of real advice and experience. Clear and to the point. I loved that this was written by medical professional and mom. Glad I purchased!

Someone recommended this audio to me
Someone recommended this audio to me and was listening to it during my pregnancy. The good news is that there is a wide variety of subjects covered, helpful descriptions, and essential facts. I consistently refer to this book in an attempt to distill good advice from bad advice. And, anybody who has been stuck in the Internet vortex of baby advice knows the feeling I'm talking about. And, this audiobook is definitely more helpful and comprehensive than the vortex.

Well informative
I have followed the routines of this audio for all my 3 children and it just WORKS. It’s amazing!!! If you stick to it and at the same time are flexible with it, then it works and does wonders. At 1 month old ALL my children were already sleeping through the night on their own (7pm to around 5am). Babies will NOT starve with this routine. On the contrary, your baby won’t cry much because of you follow it you will be feeding him/her right when he/she is getting hungry, you will put him/her to sleep right when he/she is getting tired...that’s the beauty of it that parents and baby get synchronized.
For me it has been the best gift I got form a friend during my first pregnancy. It gives me peace of mind, I know exactly what my babies need and what to expect. I know exactly what is a good time to go out the house, run an errand, have visitors, etc. It’s just perfect for an organized person like me.

This audio guide was a life saver.
This audio guide was a life saver. Every question we had about anything and everything, this book had/has the answer to. Not only that, but it’s all in terms anyone can understand. Quick and simple guidance. Would highly recommend this book to all new parents, even just as a reference or something to look over when you need a read. It’s perfect for helping you not freak out over the little things, or to help reassure that you are doing something correctly.

This audiobook is full of great advice
This audiobook is full of great advice for first-time parents, even if you do not follow "the routine". We are trying to follow it, but we have not yet been successful at establishing the routine.
However, it is a great starting point. Before the book, life with our new baby was very random and chaotic. With Emily's book, we at least have targets to aim for whether things are going well or not.
Both of us are doctors and what she says makes a lot of sense from a medical science point of view. It is clear that she has looked after a lot of babies both in and out of the hospital.
I would not say that this is the only way but it is a great place to start if you would like some order and routine in your life.
Her book is very much about getting your baby into a routine that fits well around parents' sleep and sanity!

I would highly recommend it 😊
As a new Mum of a 6 month old, I couldn’t find anything to help me switch off and relax once my little girl was asleep but this all changed once I found this audiobook. I’d seen the authors blogs in my Mother and Baby magazine so I recognised her name when looking for a book and I thought I’d give it a go. I’m so glad I did. At the end of each day (especially tough days) sitting to have a cup of tea and listening to this book was so relocatable and incredibly uplifting. I would highly recommend it 😊
