Summary

A passenger plane explodes. Eighty-three people die. One man is responsible.

When a routine operation ends in tragedy, decorated ex-Royal Marine Ryan Kaine becomes the target of a nationwide manhunt. The police want him on terrorism charges. A sinister organization wants him dead.

Kaine is forced to rely on two women he hardly knows: one, a country vet who treats his wounds, the other an IT expert with a secret of her own.

Battling overwhelming guilt, life-threatening injuries, and his own moral code, Kaine hunts the people who turned him into a mass murderer.

Can Kaine's combat skills, instincts, and new-found allies lead him to the truth and redemption?

Entertaining romp

Pretty straight forward action listen. UK based, good narration. Does what it says on the lid.

voice Iver spoilt this otherwise good story

Citroen pronounced sit-ron. NOT SITROW-WHEN for starters. must have been said 90ish times and one of several awful pronounciations. The right voice over is key with audiobooks. story is good and interesting, worth a listen? probably a better read.

Fantastic story

One of the best action books I have listened to on Audible. When are all the other Ryan Kaine books being released on audible?

Disappointing

This was being billed as the “British Jack Reacher” and I’ve found no comparison. The character interactions feel poorly scripted and stilted, with a distinct 70’s stereotypical male/female feel to the characters.
I started to struggle with the narrator from their first attempt at an accent (despite being an English man doing an English accent!) and my struggles increased when he started describing cars as Citrowen and Neesan. The portrayal of the French accent finished those struggles!
I’ve given up four hours in!

It’s an action novel with lots of action

It’s an easy listen, a lot the story is very convenient and sometimes a bit cliche but I enjoyed it overall. Really irritating narration though, some weird pronunciation and a few mistakes.

A good one for Alex Cross fans

A confusing start and the readers voice took a bit of getting used to but I am glad I stuck with it and looking forward to the next instalment.

not better than reacher

very entertaining. a little clichéd at times. a few nice twists. but definitely not better than the first few reacher books. which were excellent. I will try the next book tho and hope it's as good or better.

Great listen.

Kept me entertained for hours. At last someone who can write something to rival Reacher.

Engrossing listen

Great story, good plot, stiff upper lip English characters, good listening while keeping hands occupied.
