Summary

Defy the inevitable. Such is the stance of Confederation captain Eric Weston and the crew of the starship Odysseus, patrolling the outer limits of Priminae space, anticipating the Empire's next attacks. Connected with the Terran FTL tech—the transition drive—humanity might stand a chance against the overwhelming forces. Until the entire planetary system goes dark.

Outnumbered and outgunned, the Odysseus arrives to find the Empire securing critical intelligence from Priminae ships—data that could prove disastrous in the wrong hands.

As the Odysseus enters the fray, the ship's systems exhibit increasingly chaotic glitches, while haunting apparitions stalk the crew. As they struggle to control their own ship—and their sanity—against the tide of battle, how can they hope to grasp victory when the Odysseus itself appears to be coming to life?

Close quarter battle with the Imperials

Another great story by Evan Currie. I've really enjoyed the series covering loads of different angles of war like space battle, ground assault and defence on planets and close quarters battle on another ship. Again the only frustrating thing has been the narrator not being consistent with his character voices. I will continue to listen though as I need to know how the series ends.

Fantastic Story, fantastic narrator!

Extremely well written and engaging story made even better by the Narrator David de Vries. Listened to all of the Odyssey series and each one as excitingbas the last!

I want more

loving the this continuing story, but this one seemed to end far to quickly. Star wars and star Trek all in one but better. Well worth reading the collection so far.

Good but concentrated on too small a moment in time

Good action story and development of the overall saga, but I cannot help but feel the author is stringing it out a bit now. Will read the next one but if it’s not reaching a conclusion I will probably stop at that point.

Great book

Great book I like listening to another instalment of space adventure. There is lots of science tech and things that go bang.

Great experience.

Very good book - I like this universe, well designed characters and interesting plot. This book add not so much in the term of pushing story farther in this universe but rather adds more resolution / details to this universe - I think this is to prepare for more story in the next book :). Overall very good audio book - light and pleasant story, very good to unwind.

Rushed

Little let down by this instalment as it felt a little rushed. it's almost half the size of the earlier instalments and just feels lacking. still worth a listen but didn't seem to add anything to the overall story and even missed out a lot of already established lure.
