Engaging Stories
An assortment of short tales and novellas. Instead of rolling my eyes and dreading another snoozefest, I was excited to read each story, unlike previous short story books I've been reading on the hunt for a 5-star horror read.
Standouts for me were The Girl Who Wasn't There, Whiskers, They Come at Night, Blind Date, Ghost Tennis, Dreamland, House of Echoes, and Creepy Crawlies. In fact, I enjoyed 29 out of the 29 stories rating a mere 5 of them with the lowest rating of "okay."
I stayed up late reading this book. The stories were really engrossing. I found his style of writing reminiscent of the authors I grew up reading, like Stephen King. Nick Clausen writing style was very engaging, he tells a wonderful story and I am eager to read more from him.
My own personal reading challenge to read until I find a 5-Star horror book is now complete. To reward myself, I shall do something a little different and read more horror books.
