Summary
Billionaire Jackson Spearman is impatient, demanding, and private. He’s practically a recluse. When his assistant goes on maternity leave, Amy Walker, virtual assistant extraordinaire, arrives to save the day.
Or does she?
Amy is inquisitive and far too optimistic. She isn’t impressed with Jackson at all.
Is she even real?
They can’t stand each other. Unfortunately, they can’t seem to resist each other, either. Soon, their work relationship starts to feel like something more....
Even when Amy meets her dream man, she can’t seem to stop thinking about her annoying online boss. And the woman who’s never fallen in love before, finds herself falling for two men.
Both of them have everything she’s ever wanted. But she has to choose one.
Can Jackson convince her that he can be everything that she needs? Or will her past come back to haunt them and ruin her chance at love?
Note: Contains a grumpy, workaholic tech CEO with a guarded heart and a virtual assistant whose skills border on diabolical. Also, two cats named Ramen and Sushi.

Fabulous!
Absolutely loved this author's first foray into romcom when it released a couple of years and it was wonderful to listen to Jackson and Amy's story again.
Jackson Spearman is something of a 'problem child'. He's difficult, demanding, cold and a workaholic. When his PA goes on maternity leave, she sets him up with a virtual assistant - Amy Walker. She's not quite what he wants but he's locked into a contract, and even if he bought his way out of it, he'll be stuck without a PA for months, as no one wants to work for him.
Amy Walker is like a ray of sunshine with her chirpy attitude, her inspirational quotes of the day, and her music playlist. He has no digital footprint so Amy has no idea who she's working for. She's fantastic at her job but somewhat reclusive, preferring to interact with the outside world from behind her computer screen.
As the two of them exchange emails and messages, what starts off as prickly snarkiness between them, slowly develops into a great working relationship, and also curiosity about each other in real life. When they both meet possible relationship candidates, their feelings start getting torn because it's ridiculous to have feelings for someone you've never met face to face - and not even seen a picture of them. Right?
I just adored this story! The exchanges between Amy and Jackson were funny, witty, often biting, but you could really see how things changed between them, and how well they suited each other. When Amy and Jackson both meet other people in real life, you could see just how mixed up they felt. Both were carrying scars from the past and both had to learn to trust again. They had fabulous, hot chemistry, and I adored the conclusion. The narrators really brought this story to life, especially as they actually spoke the roles during all the message exchanges. SebYo was as glorious as usual in the role of snarky, grumpy, sexy Jackson. Grace Grant did a fab job as the super smart, efficient, direct Amy who also had a vulnerable core. Absolutely loved it!

Plenty of witty banter in this romance
A really enjoyable romcom. Confusion over identities almost prevents love from blossoming between Amy and Jackson. But true love wins in the end.
Excellent narration throughout especially with the sexy voice of Sebastian ❤❤❤

Jackson and Amy!
Jackson is a demanding, overbearing grumpy boss. He has set standards that are impossible to meet and any relations with his staff are strictly professional and he doesn’t want anyone getting too close. When he needs to replace his assistant temporarily a virtual assistant is hired, and she is everything he doesn’t want in an employee.
Amy couldn’t be more different than Jackson. Where he doesn’t allow anyone close, she hasn’t met a person she hasn’t liked. She is the sun compared to his dark clouds and she gives as good as she gets when it comes to the interactions between them.
As they adjust to working together their relationship evolves into a friendship and even though they have never met the flirting begins. They both have secrets so will they be willing to take a chance on meeting each other and see what they could have or will they be afraid to take the leap and enjoy the relationship they already have?
These two couldn’t be more different or more perfect for each other and there is no denying the chemistry and connection between them. The dual narration added an extra layer to the story and the narrators were a perfect choice for the characters.

Jackson!!! Get to know him!
This kind of writing is why I love Claudia Burgoa so much! Each of her books is original and full of romance! This is the first in her Spearman Family series, and it features Jackson, a man that keeps to himself. When his assistant goes on maternity leave, he hires a temporary that is virtual. Snarky, yet efficient and packed with good ideas, Amy is his perfect match. These two are like oil and water at the start, but their texts become friendlier as time goes on. As the two branch out into personal lives, they find that even on their dates, they are thinking of each other! Will they ever meet? Could this be the true love of their lives, yet virtual? Burgoa gives us a few twists and turns in this one that combine our past and future ways of dating! It's fun, quirky and had my attention the entire time! Loved getting to know the first in the Spearman family and look forward to more.
As always, Burgoa matches her characters with the best voices. It's like she writes knowing the voice she will be using. Jack is played by Sebastian York. His grumpy boss is the best and then he can switch to the loving, compassionate man in an instant. Grace Grant is a favorite, and she pulls out the quirky side of Amy the cat lady! It's a fantastic pairing and listen.

Confusing
I think I’d rather have read the ebook of this. Most of it was written as emails with the occasional bit of live action later on, but it was just so hard to tell what was thought and what was speech. Both of them were withholding information from each other so that confusion made this quite difficult to follow. I’m sure as an ebook it would be clearer.
Can’t recommend this as an audiobook.
