About this listen
Are you feeling burnt out by the pace of your work and life? Do you want to reignite your passion, creativity, and motivation?
It’s time to take control of your emotional and physical health with this book of practical strategies for managing burnout.
Managing burnout can be accomplished by taking some important steps, such as understanding the context for your stressors, identifying what you want in life and how to get there, taking ownership for your happiness outcomes, and making decisions about how much is too much to handle before breaking down.
We are in a culture that encourages people to be happy because everything will work out in the end. You should be happy all of the time because everything is the way it should be. But for many of us this is not our reality, and that can cause us great stress and pressure as we try to cope with these challenges.
"All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. But a recent study on burnout in people revealed that it's rarely just one thing that leads to this state of exhaustion or disappointment with life. In fact, the causes are often complex."
Often when we suffer from burnout — emotionally caused exhaustion or disappointment with our current situation — it means we are not finding enough meaning in our lives. We are often going through life without enough internal energy to make it worthwhile. We have not been able to find what we really want, or we have not made progress towards it in the time we have been alive. This naturally leads to feelings of disappointment, anger or frustration.
We are in a culture that encourages people to be happy because everything will work out in the end.
This book aims to present mindfulness, gratitude, and compassion techniques for managing these feelings of frustration and exhaustion. By taking the time to think about what we want in our lives and what we deserve, and through changing our behavior to adapt to our changing situation, we can make ourselves happier.

Managing burnout for women
My wife works as a lawyer and she wanted to find out how to better manage her inevitable burnout cycle that she goes through every quarter. She said the audible was well structured, which took you through a logical sequence of events from understanding the stress cycle through to being able to manage it and negate it for future events. Informative, well-narrated and well worth a listen if you suffer from burnout.

Reflecting my own experiences!
One of the chapters that resonated with me was the one about recognizing stress triggers and symptoms. It was like a mirror reflecting my own experiences. It's easy to overlook the signs of stress until they become overwhelming, and this chapter helped me understand and identify the warning signals in my life. Rosamund Hine's narration is clear and calming, making the content even more effective. Her soothing voice is a perfect match for a book on managing stress.

Valuable Tool To Combat Burnout!
This is a fantastic resource for anyone who's feeling emotionally or physically exhausted from the demands of work or life. I know firsthand how overwhelming and draining burnout can be, having experienced it myself a few years ago. It felt like I was constantly pushing uphill, being hit by blow after blow, and struggling to find the energy or motivation to get out of bed in the morning. That's why I think this audiobook is such a valuable tool for anyone who's experiencing similar feelings. Amna does an incredible job of not only explaining the signs and repercussions of burnout but also providing an array of practical tactics for regaining control and finding happiness. The narrator, Rosamund Hine, voice complements the subject matter perfectly, making it a great resource for anyone looking to combat burnout and improve their emotional and physical well-being. Highly recommend!

Great Resource and Insight
I highly recommend this audiobook! The author has written a well researched tome regarding the exhaustion of work, daily life and the emotions that come with both. The idea of burnout is still seen as a “get over it” and eye roll worthy statement, but this book highlights the frustrations and “get on with it” challenges that so many face. The author uses personal experiences and gives practical advice to aid in overcoming the emotional and physical turmoil of burnout and provides a way through to create a healthy and happy daily life.
