Summary
You never know where danger may come from....
6.45 a.m. A sweltering London rush hour. And in the last 27 minutes, seven people have been murdered.
In a series of coordinated attacks, seven men and women across London have been targeted. For journalist Famie Madden, the horror unfolds as she arrives for the morning shift.
The victims have one thing in common: they make up the investigations team at the news agency where Famie works. The question everyone’s asking: what were they working on that could prompt such brutal devastation?
As Famie starts to receive mysterious messages, she must find out whether she is being warned of the next attack or being told that she will be the next victim....

Gripping and thoroughly enjoyable
Brilliant story - I found it so hard not to listen to the whole thing in one sitting! There was even a little Wittertainment Easter egg. The characters were interesting - I really hope there's a follow up so we can spend more time with them. Just when I thought I couldn't love Simon Mayo more, he writes a great book with a fantastic woman in the lead role.
I've never listened to an audio book before and was unsure how I'd feel about it, but I thought Zoe Telford's narration was wonderful. It was quiet and subtle, so it didn't distract from the story.
Overall, I can't recommend this book enough.

good book, dull narration
entertaining book ruined by a terrible monotone narration that made it very difficult for the mind not to wander.

Gripping
The book is gripping but a little over long, so 4 stars. The narrator’s soft, rather flat delivery was irritating at times but the story was good enough to keep me listening.

Great twists and turns.
A great story with believable characters. Twists and turns help to keep the narrative alive. Enjoying a new side to Simon Mayo and definitely downloading his next book

Exceptional Storytelling - Unrelenting Pace
Zoe Telford wonderful choice for narrator. Note perfect. Suspenseful, shocking, well-researched cracking plot. Highly recommended.

Not an easy listen.
It started well but I lost concentration in the middle. I found the reader rather flat and her downward inflections a little boring, in what should have been an exciting, if very troublesome, story. I also found the swearing disappointing. I don't really like books with lots of swearing, but I understand that it is sometimes necessary. However, despite the very harrowing events the characters were facing, I felt the swearing wasn't really necessary and the the author was trying too hard to shake off his 'wholesome' image, which I felt was a shame. The ending was OK, but I had guessed the twist early on. overall, a disappointment.

Great listen.
Loved this from the off, detailed and narrators voice really lent itself well to the story. Will look forward to trying more of Simon Mayo's books.

slow start but worth the time
I struggled a little to get into things. the narrator having a very calming voice meant I often found my mind wondering. as the action ramped up it hot a lot better and I got reall hooked by the final third. Nice character development and a very on topic plot. decent listen overall.

Pretty good yarn.
Keeps the pace up, and an enjoyable read / listen. Very passable! Believable characters, and a solid story. Very well read for audible.

Lost my way after 3 hours
Narrator was really giving me a hard time to continue with this book and she didn’t give me anything to keep me going. Story was good at start but stopped by chapter 34
