Summary
A new perspective on the overused and misunderstood concept of 'karma' that offers the key to happiness and enlightenment, from the New York Times best-selling author and world-renowned spiritual master Sadhguru.
What is karma? Most people understand karma as a balance sheet of good and bad deeds, virtues and sins - the mechanism that decrees that we cannot evade the consequences of our own actions. In reality, karma has nothing to do with reward and punishment. Karma simply means action - your action, your responsibility. It isn’t some external system of crime and punishment, but an internal cycle generated by you. Accumulation of karma is determined only by your intention and the way you respond to what is happening to you. Over time, it’s possible to become ensnared by your own unconscious patterns of behaviour.
In Karma, Sadhguru seeks to put you back in the driver’s seat, turning you from a terror-struck passenger to a confident driver navigating the course of your own destiny. By living consciously and fully inhabiting each moment, you can free yourself from the cycle. Karma is an exploration and a manual, restoring our understanding of karma to its original potential for freedom and empowerment instead of a source of entanglement. Through Sadhguru’s teachings, you will learn how to live intelligently and joyfully in a challenging world.

If the prisoner runs away from the prison , he is forever running…
But if the prisoner leaves because he’s time is up ,
He is forever liberated

Much needed in todays world - my mind is blown
There's a lot to process here from an average Westerner's point of view - in a good way. This really is a book for life and I am sure I will read it many times over. Understanding life and the way are living it is so powerful. I have fallen foul of living a life in pursuit of happiness rather than living a life that is an expression of my joy... and it's taken its toll! The mind-shift here is life-changing. I feel this is now just the start of my journey which is really exciting. Thank you Sadhguru - now to start working through these big old bags of Karma!

A must read (or listen) for all human race
Excellent narration and content. If you are to evolve as human, this is a must read for you. Karma is such a vital aspect ones life. People need to understand basics of this in their school itself rather than understanding life as a reward or punishment.

Enlightening
I found this book very enlightening, and eye opening but I must admit You need to be at a place of receptivity for it to open any doors for you. I guess you have to first understand you are in a maze before you begin looking for ways out. It wouldn’t have made much sense to me a year ago. But to those that already practice some spirituality in their lives, I think it is a kind of users manual that is humourous, honest and straightforward, without being cringy, dogmatic or preachy. Thankyou.
