Very actionable steps for implementing KPIs effectively

Quite detailed and extensive approach with lots of useful tools to download as a bonus (xls, pdf). Good book, I believe, for a top manager or board member willing to engage in a predominately data based governance as opposed to a predominantly “intuitive”  governance.

Make this your standard reference for KPIs and BI

Everybody who is working on any KPI or BI project—in any capacity— should have this as standard reading.

Bernie provides the right information, at the right pace, whilst making it both interesting and coherent as a whole. 3 hours of reading or listening to this will save you a whole lot of hours further down the line.

This is the book I wish I'd had 30 years ago. I'll cheerfully admit to being good at what I do, and have worked on the production of KPIs, dashboards and reporting for many years now. Even so, having this book would have saved me, my employers and—later my clients—considerable time, money and pain in the creation and agreement of KPI lists.

It covers not just how to get to the right KPIs but, more importantly, how to avoid getting the wrong ones.

Buy this book, or get your employer to buy it for you: along with Tufte and Few this should be on your bookshelf as a standard reference.
