War of the world meets small town America

I loved this book. War of the World meets small town America. This type of story is a classic for a reason, but this one is excellent. Your typical bunch of small town Americans, the prepper, the veteran, the outsider, the cheerleader, the fat kid and the conspiracy guy in the tin foil hat, join forces to survive the alien invasion. The writing is excellent, the characters are strong, well described and likable and the aliens suitably grotesque and of course the government knew. Narration is top notch. I look forward to part 2. I received a complimentary copy of the audio and an leaving a honest voluntary review.
