Summary

Three fleets aim to wipe out a planet.

One team must raise the alarm...and time is running out.

As Moldark turns his attention to Capriana Prime, Magnus and his gladias attempt to convince the Republic’s leadership to raise the planetary defense shield. But this seemingly simple task turns out to be more difficult than anyone expected, placing the planet’s population in grave jeopardy.

Desperate to save the capital, Magnus and the Gladio Umbra fight to save the seat of galactic rule at all costs.

Azelon isn’t without her tricks, however, and provides new hardware for Magnus—the BATRIG mechanized battle armament system.

But as time runs out, Magnus is faced with the hardest choices of his life...and gambles will be made.

All for the greater good.

Includes a special note from the authors.

The Ruins of the Galaxy series is now performed by Christopher Ryan Grant, narrator of the bestselling sci-fi series Strange Company.

🙄

Can’t believe RC bray is not narrator for the whole series. He’s one of my favourite authors and CR Grant just doesn’t quite live up to his standards or mine

Not as good as the others

Hope the pace picks up in the next book.
Although the new narrator is ok not a patch on R C Bray.

Entertaining but not the strongest in the series

The change from one much loved narrator to another part way through a series is a tricky thing to do, but in this case it worked out ok. Within the first hour or so I'd got used to the new voice and was quite into the story. The only thing that still jarred me was the voice of the bots. T0-96's Scottish accent could really do with some work and maybe some "hamming up". He's gone from being the most recognisable voice to someone I have to listen to for a few words before figuring out who is talking.

The story was entertaining, and had plenty of action, mechs and space battles but it somehow fell short of my expectations and dragged a bit especially in the first few hours.

love the series

initially I found that the change of narrator made it difficult to listen to. however I found changing the speed to 1.1 made this a much better listen. Not sure if it has been uploaded with wrong speed, at 1x it was poor. Still not the same without RC Bray as I became so used to how he portrayed the characters.

Went on a bit

Really enjoyed the previous books in this series. I felt this book dragged on in the battles, & was made worse by the narrator’s drawling speech especially in the early parts of the book. Bring back R.C.Bray

Excellent story.

Smashing story, the change in narrator is a bit of a juxtaposition but I got used to it. it's better listening to it at 1.1 speed.

Love the ruins

Thank you Christopher once again. I love these books as a leader of a business. They are a great escapism from the pressures of life.

Big smoke, no bang and voices aged.

Six books later, it felt to me that this was "Let's just get it done." The battle scenes were OK, not great. The voices, we know changing narrator is like changing a pilot with a random person on a mid flight crossing the ocean, the plane is only going one way....
In my opinion, they should have taken everyone into meta space and made them all age as this is now the voices sounded to me. I stopped and started the book many times as the voices were just awful.
