About this listen
HypnoBirthing has gained momentum around the globe as a positive and empowering method of childbirth. Here's why: HypnoBirthing helps women to become empowered by developing an awareness of the instinctive birthing capability of their bodies. It greatly reduces the pain of labor and childbirth; frequently eliminates the need for drugs; reduces the need for caesarian surgery or other doctor-controlled birth interventions; and it also shortens birthing and recovery time, allowing for better and earlier bonding with the baby, which has been proven to be vital to the mother-child bond. What's more, parents report their infants sleep better and feed more easily when they haven't experienced birth trauma.
HypnoBirthing founder Marie Mongan knows from her own four births that it is not necessary for childbirth to be a terribly painful experience. In this audiobook, she shows women how the Mongan Method works and how parents can take control of the greatest and most important event of their lives.
So, why is birth such a traumatic event for so many women? And why do more than 40 percent of births now end in caesarian section, the highest percentage in history? The answer is simple: because our culture teaches women to fear birth as a painful and unsettling experience. Fear causes three physical reactions in the body - tightening of the muscles, reduced blood flow to the birthing muscles, and the release of certain hormones - which increase the pain and discomfort of childbirth. This is not hocus-pocus - this is science.

Expands Womens Awareness of Peaceful Labourzystów
Book will not give you a technique, but will provide you with a peaceful approach to labo. The first chapters are indeed a sort of sell-like story of the method. However the second part of the book is extremely helpful for those who wish to born babies naturally and in piece. This is the first time someone matches my view on how unmedicated pregnancy and labor is the natural way we should be bringing our children to earth. Book provides a basis for understanding why it’s important to keep the peace during the most important day of your life and how it can be achieved (to an extent by sharing stories of other women and author’s belief system which I agree with and gave me hope I can find a place that will support me in delivering naturally). Thank you!

Wonderful
This is a very good book. I have read about 20 Pregnancy books and this is one of my favourites. I really think it will help during birth. However, I did find myself feeling frustrated that it was yet another book about why Hypnobirthing is so good rather than actually teaching us Hypnobirthing methods. I am now at 35 weeks and despite all of my reading I still haven’t got to the bottom of what Hypnobirthing actually is, and I really can’t afford to waste time at the moment, the author tells you to download an MP3 which costs around £20. I don’t mind doing that but I don’t have a computer and the files are too big to put on your phone so there was an element of feeling like a lot of time was lost. Otherwise great x

Find a class and skip the listen/book
This is a book that spends several chapters telling you why you should use hypnobirthing but does very little to teach you any of the techniques. If you want to try hypnobirthing, find a class and skip this book.

Apparently you need to do her course to get the info
Really disappointed in this book, the actual ‘advice’ is given out during her branded courses- not in the book! Also, very cringy to read all these references to the “Mongan Method”, all this branding feels very Dr Phil/Dr Oz etc to me. Instead, buy Ina May’s book on childbirth, much more info, actual advice, and way more humble.

Lovely listen but not what I expected
I was expecting to be taught the Mongan method however this audiobook is just the story and background behind the method. Interesting but don’t go in thinking you’re going to know the method by the end of the read.

No methods taught!
Chapter after chapter focuses on the overall thought process behind hynotbirthing yet she never actually discloses one method you can apply . Don’t waste your time listening .
