Summary
From Richard Lyntton, international Amazon number one best-selling author of North Korea Deception, comes an unforgettable new thriller in the Deception series featuring British army tank commander and gentleman spy Captain Jack Steele.
An unimaginable war is being fought in the heart of Europe. Millions of lives are at stake. One man can prevent it as a Western conspiracy plot to assassinate the warring factions they have been sent to protect.
A tragic event in London’s Hyde Park transforms Jack Steele’s life forever.
Can a United Nations military observer stay true to his feelings and mission when he discovers a devastating secret?
Which side will assassinate him first?
Jack Steele survived the first Gulf War. As a captain and tank commander, he saw the dark side of human conflict. A linguist, he speaks Russian, German, French, and Bosnian; he is the perfect man to execute the deadly mission. Except that he is the last to know it, and death might ultimately be his only escape.
War rages in former Yugoslavia. It’s a place few UN peacekeepers know or understand. But Steele must fulfill his promise to his brother and discover the true meaning and location behind the Sarajevo Protocol to save millions of lives and stop World War III in Europe.
Don’t miss this high-octane book two in The Deception Series; an adrenaline rush not for the fainthearted; an international action thriller with twists, turns, an impossible romance, and excruciating choices. Jack Steele must risk everything including those he loves - but only if he survives.
Ultimate international spy thriller for fans of Ludlum, le Carré, Cussler, and Flynn.

Critic reviews
“This gritty Jack Steele novel plunges the reader into the chaos of a dangerous world where none can be trusted and nothing, not even family, is as straightforward as it seems. The combination of heart-wrenching poignancy and wry, dark humor make this tense page-turner a compelling read, gripping to the end.” (Sophie Jenkins, author of A Random Act of Kindness and The Forgotten Guide to Happiness)
“If you want to go on a thrill ride and learn some vital history along the way, there’s no better driver than Richard Lyntton. He writes with such a firm grasp of detail that you’ll almost be sure you were there.” (Nathaniel Popkin, award-winning author of The Year of the Return)
“An unforgettable political thriller reminiscent of Ludlum’s best work. Jack Steele becomes embroiled in a top-secret conspiracy to destroy the Bosnian Serbs that spirals out of control, risking a third world war. Hyde Park Deception has heart-stopping twists and turns that will nail you to the edge of your seat. Exceptional!” (William L. Myers Jr., best-selling author of The Philadelphia Legal Series)

I had to concentrate but was worth it
This is a complicated book with many moving parts. The author has obviously had military connections and insight into the split of the former Yugoslavia to make this a truly believable fast paced book of espionage and war.

Complex story and great depth of the conflict
Richard Lyntton is clearly extremely knowledgable on the region and complex nature of the conflict covered in this book. It's packed with detail, but also a fast paced good story there too, so overall a really good listen.
The performance is also very engaging, which is a great help as you do have to concentrate to keep up with the detail and all the characters.
A really good listen, I would definitely recommend.

A fantastic thriller set in the real war in Bosnia
Wow, this book is even better than North Korea Deception (the first in the trilogy). Drawing from Richard’s own experiences as a UN peacekeeper this book is a real page turner wandering through ethnic hostilities and various western agencies. Army life and the ins and outs around that war just feel so real. I recommend it!!
