About this listen

If you are a health-conscious individual that’s sick of nutrition misinformation, then keep reading.

The average American lifespan is 79 years old, while the average health-span is 63 years old. These statistics tell us most people’s quality of life significantly decreases before they retire. Even worse, the average American is living the last 15 years of their life without an essential part of human existence: well-being.

Don’t panic, it’s not too late to improve your health and quality of life.

The good news is, you can extend your health span! You can live longer, healthier, and happier by eating well—but most of what you’ve been taught about nutrition is a lie.

It’s no secret that the world is full of misinformation, from schools that teach outdated information to misinformed—but well-meaning—friends and family. Even the influencers are swearing by specific diets, products, and magical diets that promise to help you shed weight instantly. It’s no wonder most people have no idea where to start when it comes to eating better.

Hungry for Truth takes a different approach. Author and registered dietitian Tatiana Keay is on a mission to expose nutrition misinformation, dispel common inaccurate beliefs, and provide evidence-based nutritional truths that’ll give direction to change your life and take charge of your health.

In this audiobook you will discover:

  • Ten commonly believed lies about nutrition
  • Why it’s not your fault eating well is difficult
  • The mindset needed as a foundation for longevity nutrition
  • The foods that are shortening your health span
  • Weight maintenance/loss nutrition to reverse your biological clock
  • Over 75 nutrition truths to support you on your health journey
  • And so much more!

Whether you are just starting your health journey or are a nutrition expert, you will learn something new and/or solidify your beliefs. Even if you’re "old’", you can embrace longevity nutrition and slow the aging process.

What this book tells you is don’t panic, it’s not too late to improve your health and quality of life.

This book explains you can extend your health span! You can live longer, healthier, and happier by eating well—but most of what you’ve been taught about nutrition is a lie.

Fascinating

It's truly terrifying to realise that your health is likely to run out of steam before your life does! Who wants to spend the last 15 or so years in misery or worse, pain! Certainly not me. This book really made me sit up and think about what is important and what I'm doing to sabotage my own retirement. What's the point of working so hard to get yourself a good pension and then not have the good health to enjoy it? This book is not only important, but has some fantastic information, advice and I loved the 75 facts. Recommended.

Very Inspiring Book!

This is such a motivating and inspirational book!

Our ego judges us all the time, telling us our body isn’t good enough, it’s our fault we look the way we do.
Shame gets in the way of our wellbeing. We try to eat well and exercise but why does it never work?
It isn’t your fault that you what you think you know about nutrition and dieting is wrong.

The author goes through lies we tell ourselves every day and explains how and why these things happen. She reviews all the most common diets and explains why they don’t work. For example, why is it that the removal of fat from foods caused a huge raise in obesity?

Highly processed foods are the most readily available today. We have access to any type of food at any time because of the ease of access. Makes it very easy to indulge. Even though we try to make good choices, the way food products are marketed is pretty clever. We are addicted to cheap, mouth-watering foods and the government makes it very easy for us to keep eating them.

She talks about the power of practicing body positivity, even though it’s not easy. Something that really struck a chord for me was learning that A perfect body doesn’t bring happiness. Why? Because true happiness is a state of mind that comes from within. However, our programs make us think that this will make us happy.

Something that surprised me was that the average American is living the last 15 years of their life without an essential part of human existence: well-being. I don’t want this to happen to me!

This book teaches that once you are aware, you can live longer, healthier, and happier by eating well based on evidence-based nutritional truths that give direction to change your life and take charge of your health. The more you know, the more you realize how much more there is to learn. Confidence is learned through knowledge and experience.

Time to change my life style!

Before reading this book, I had a lot of misunderstood about nutrition and food,
this book just opened my eyes.

We are in a society that won't starve easily, but not everyone has healthy eating habits, which is sad.

There is also some food that is poisoning our health and our generation; thank you for the author of this book igniting me!

Lots of great info

I'm always interested in nutrition and general health. This book was a real eye-opener for some topics. There is a lot of conflicting information out there, especially with nutritional sciences, and this book did a good job of highlighting some important truths and misinformation we've been fed over the years. Very nicely4 narrated as well!
