***THE INSTANT SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER***
Race-winning team strategist shows how F1 really works.
Welcome to Bernie Collins' world. Formula 1 drivers are the public face of Grand Prix racing but behind every driver is a team of several hundred people sharing the same passionate desire to win. On race day it's the Team Strategist who calls the shots, working under immense pressure to make split second and crucial decisions. Through her eyes and experience as a Performance Engineer and Head of Race Strategy, Bernie takes you behind the scenes of a Formula 1 team - both in the factory and at the races - to uncover what it takes to put two Formula 1 cars on the grid and go racing.
How to Win a Grand Prix gives incredible insight of the entire process from design and construction, through pre-season testing, and how a team prepares for each Grand Prix. For race weekend itself, Bernie recreates it hour-by-hour to plunge the reader behind the pit wall and see what it's actually like to get from grid to podium.

Fantastic book
Really informative, behind the scenes look at everything F1. As a F1 fanatic, was great to hear what goes on during a race weekend and the behind the scene look at strategy. This book would also be great for anyone starting to follow F1. Thank you Bernie for taking me on a well informed, personal journey.

An excellent listen.
I loved Seb's message to Bernie on her final race and she's a brilliant pundit for Sky- she's clever, plain-speaking and refreshing. This is an inspiring read, she has to make difficult decisions but stands by them, and she doesn't sugarcoat how tough a strategic F1 life is.

great insight into F1
Loved the detail and thought processes involved in F1. I was aware of Ms Collins when she first went to work for McLaren and regularly saw her on the pitwall when watching on TV. my admiration for her head grown listening to her story.

Insightful but not enjoyable
Bernie Collins is an incredibly dedicated, intelligent and driven individual. But sadly she's not a storyteller.
As an F1 fan this is my 8th audiobook in the category and I'm always keen to hear more. unfortunately this book seems more like a series of dull diary extracts listening what happened each day at work.
Without any exciting incidents or witty anecdotes, I found the book a real chore to get through.
