Summary

When he proposed, I had to pinch myself. Up until then, his most romantic gesture was buying me a 128-piece tool kit.

When recently engaged Nat flips through a bridal magazine, she spots a quiz on page 111 about being ready for marriage. After failing it, she’s determined to prove it wrong. If only it was that easy.... Getting married to Archie, whose smile makes her insides go funny, should be a dream come true. So why is it a total nightmare? Examples include:

  1. A mother-in-law who insists on a pre-wedding diet and portions that Nat needs a microscope for
  2. A bridesmaid-zilla sister-in-law who forces her old wedding dress on her, featuring satin bows, far too much tulle and a bodice that Nat, the kind of girl who wears Converse and Snoopy-print underwear, doesn’t even have the boobs for
  3. A best man who stinks of whisky and tries to kiss her before she knees him in the crotch
  4. A wedding planner who insists on peacocks, doves and pink flamingos at the ceremony

All of this would be bearable if her fiancé was by her side. But when he refuses to help her deal with his diva family, and goes AWOL on the stag do, she starts to doubt the whole thing. Archie was meant to be the one. But what if her one true love is actually gin and tonic, the only thing getting her through this?

A totally addictive romantic comedy for anyone who has a phobia of bridezillas and who makes the happiest memories during Happy Hour.

Terrible narration, tall tale.

Found the narrators accent irritating and distracting, have listened to others narrated by Jessica preddy and were far more listenable than this. The pronunciation of some words was just awful!
The story is so ridiculous and none of the characters are particularly likeable either. This one isn’t for me at all.

Bit of a misleading title and cover

Good performance by Jessica Preddy a pleasant voice and good characterization.
Quite a gritty story and not what I would categories as a Romantic Comedy in the usual sense. Plenty of believable issues and up to date with problems in the NHS and looming COVID.
This is a bit long I felt at times quite dour with fairly unsympathetic characters.
It does end well and there is some redemption of the characters but it's unlikely I will listen to it again.

Another wonderful story!

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this latest book from Sophie Ranald. I love how each new book is about people connected with The Ginger Cat pub, but where they may have only been peripheral characters in previous books, each new one is their story. This time it's the turn of Archie who owns Craft Fever, the beer & gin shop next door to the Ginger Cat, and his Fiancee Nat, with everything written from Nat's perspective.
A fabulous story, introducing us to lots of wonderful new characters, who are Nat & Archie's families.

Once again brilliantly brought to life by Jessica Preddy's characterisation.

not sure why it's titled He's Cancelled

I enjoyed the book and liked the way the characters from a previous book took centre stage. however the title is completely wrong and I actually had to go back to the library to check I hadn't miss read it. other than that the book kept me company whilst cleaning

Not what it says on the label🙄😏

I thought this was a very weak story that actually makes no sense considering the title. Did the author know what "HE'S CANCELLED" actually mean??

There were two things I liked and that was the nod to 'Lockdown ' because Natalie is a nurse and they were starting the pandemic near the end of the book and the other thing was the narrator made me laugh pronouncing WAR-ZELLE instead of 'Worzel Gummidge'

I would not recommend spending a credit on this book and I am relieved that I got it on a 2 for 1 Credit

Terrible narration!

…. Despite this, I did stick with it to the end (lord knows how) Sorry to say I found it a tedious and lack lustre tale. Nothing much happened really, and I suspect the narrator felt the same; she sounded utterly bored. Usually like this author but will check reviews in future. Waste of a credit
