About this listen
He was perfect. Denim blue eyes, a dazzling smile. And he hadn’t sent me a picture of his junk. Which is about as rare, these days, as a dodo.
When Sloane met Myles, everything fell into place. He loved a martini almost as much as she did, shared her passion for four-cheese pizzas, and made her laugh harder than any episode of Friends. She’d found 'The One' at last, and she could finally delete Tinder, forgetting all those waste-of-space men she’d never have to date again.
But then she finds out that Myles has a secret. A very big one.
The fairy tale is over. Her heart is blown to smithereens. Drowning her sorrows in Ben & Jerry’s can only get Sloane so far before she has to decide.... Can she learn to love herself more than she loved the love of her life? And what if, after everything, she’s got Myles - and his secret - all wrong?

Brilliant book
I loved it, all the twists and turns. The last few chapters had me shedding happy tears. It’s a beautiful book.

Fun, witty some adorable secondary characters
Light-hearted fun - my first book by Sophie Ranald - I'll certainly look for some of her others provided they have a different narrator.
Good read with some adorable secondary characters.
On to the Narration - just no.
I know the narrator must have been a difficult casting decision as the main female character is Canadian (although she sounded American throughout the book) apparently, the narrator IS English which is astonishing as her Male London accent was worse than anything Dick Van Dyke managed and some of her other UK accents were .... deeply dodgy.

not bad
it's a good book with story that could potentially happen to anyone.its written nicely and I was actually looking forward to listening again everytime I had to stop. the male voices and British accent to me was a bit off...bit I guess that's about point of view...

Ok story … shocking narration
Story itself wasn’t bad but I found it hard to get to know the characters due to the shockingly bad narration. Accents (English and Irish) appallingly bad. Also hesitant in places, it felt like narrator simply lost interest midway through a sentence. Wasted credit really. Don’t bother.

Title & Synopsis not really as it happens🤔
I don't know what it is with Sophie Ranald books, the title & Synopsis is not ever what really happens in the book.
First of all the main character Sloane has been married to Myles for 5 years and she would like to have a baby, as she feels her biological clock ticking because she is in her 30's. Myles is vile, totally gaslights Sloane when she finds out he cheated on her!!
What is wrong with men, why can't they admit that they have been caught out instead of making the woman feel like she is insane. This is a British book set in London, so I Hate all The Americanisms.
This is an okay listen, I did want to get to The end to see what happens which is a good thing, hence the 3 Stars ⭐⭐⭐
The British narrator Jessica Preddy does a bad job at voicing American and Irish accents considering being a voice artist / narrator is her actual job!
I am happy this was a FREE AUDIBLE LISTEN FROM the Plus Catalogue included membership as I wouldn't recommend spending a credit on it but it was ok to listen too.

Nice continuation
I loved that this was the other side to a story I had already listened to. Revisiting characters we’d already met.

Comedy?
Not really sure why it has laugh out loud comedy on the cover as it was humorous in places but not a laugh a minute. The storyline was quite dull sadly although I liked the characterisation. Narrator did a good job until she went all Dick Van Dyke!

Refreshingly different
A lovely read entering a real world courtesy of the author showing the lives that are weaved within life’s rich tapestry. Emotional. Pleasing. Funny.
Thank you
