Critic reviews

"Quite simply the funniest book you'll read all year...easily as funny, as self-deprecating and as wordly-wise as The Moon's a Balloon by David Niven...it's like Tom and Jerry written by a Cockney Roddy Doyle on Prozac. But funnier." ( GQ Online on Going Off Alarming)
"Rattles along at the same delightful and dizzying pace as its predecessor.... Baker loves a tale told at his own expense and they come thick and fast. He writes like he speaks, with hyperactive garrulity and a rhetorical flourish...there is something about Baker in full flow that is affirming." ( Daily Telegraph on Going Off Alarming)

The best is his trilogy

As funny as the first two of his autobiographies, and Danny's description of his cancer treatment is very very interesting, and shocking.

Just brilliant

Even the tougher subjects are tackled with enormous heart, wit and honesty. Let’s hope there will be a part 4?

outstanding writing and Performance

this book is expertly written and brilliantly performed by Danny Baker. The stories are expertly weaved and so brilliantly illustrated with excellent description. Section about cancer is as expected, very dark indeed full stop I just about made it through these chapters but Danny's amazing ability to bring things to life provides captivating listening. Highly recommended as part of the Trio of these books

Glorious glorious Candyman

Oh I have just had the loveliest few weeks listening to all three books. It’s been like having Danny back on the radio in my drive home. Have never read or listened to a better written or performed biog. Stands up and applauds. Thank you Candyman.
