Summary
Rick was a likable little fellow who had a talent for the piano (and for making trouble), and music became his life. Later, he joined a popular music group called Yes and became a legend.
Much later, he became a Grumpy Old Man who appears on Countdown, hosts a hugely popular radio show on Planet Rock and performs a one-man show telling stories about his rather extraordinary life.
That's where this book you comes in. Mr Wakeman is simply one of the great storytellers of our age - let's face it, he has some fabulous material. It seemed a shame that some of the funniest yarns should not be more widely known. So he accepted some cash and here we are.
Curl up by the fire with a Grumpy Old Rockstar and your nearest and dearest. We defy you not to listen and laugh.

What a bloke
I loved this. Laughed till I followed through. A joy to listen to an icon who has kept his feet on the bottle. The only reason I didn't give it top marks is because I would have loved to have heard more about his emotional highs and lows. Plus the fact that Rick is a Tory ... perhaps the tax implications have had an influence. Love this guy. Thanks!!!

Wondrous Tales
Excellent book, funny, couldn't stop laughing in places. An absolute must listen for anybody who likes tales of drunken revelry and rock stars of the seventies and eighties. So many of these so-called rock biographies let down. This one certainly doesn't.

Brilliant.
Any additional comments?
It was very entertaining and performed very well. As funny as you would expect, but also informative and eye opening.

Rick Wakeman is a first rate storyteller
I like the autobiographies of musicians in general. This one of the best. I gave read and listened loads autobiographies by musicians and others and could say that Wajeman's storytelling is first rate and his voice is great for reading an audiobook

What a read
It's not my authors that can make me laugh out loud but Mr Wakeman makes me do this with aplomb.
A great book.

Rick Wakeman Ace Speaker
I could listen to Rick for ages. Interviews on radio and tv are way to short.

Beer, Curry & Flatulence plus a Nuclear Sub
Brilliant, a great book made better when read by Rick. If you wonder where some of the ideas in Spinal Tap come from listen to or read this book.

a great storyteller
Rick Wakeman is good value! You're always in for a great time when he shows up on radio and TV. This was one of the most enjoyable author-read audiobooks I've heard in a long while. Sequel, please!
