SFX Magazine
Explore EXODUS, a new sci-fi action-adventure RPG coming soon from Archetype Entertainment featured in this epic novel from legendary author Peter F. Hamilton.
A fight for freedom among the stars . . .
In a past age, humanity fled a dying Earth in massive ark ships. These searched the galaxy to find a new home. Then one fleet found Centauri, a dense cluster of stars teeming with habitable planets. Now, thousands of years later, Centauri’s settlers have evolved into advanced beings known as Celestials – and their great houses rule vast star systems.
As they vie for supremacy, Earth’s ark ships continue to arrive, and humans must serve these repressive masters. But is there a better life beyond the empire? Finn is a Centauri-born human and yearns for a brighter future. So, when another ark ship arrives, previously thought lost, Finn seizes the chance to become a Traveler. These heroes explore the vast unknowns of distant space, dedicated to humanity’s survival. And they hope – one day – to find freedom.
EXODUS is an action-adventure roleplaying game from Archetype Entertainment, led by industry veterans from BioWare (Mass Effect), 343 (Halo), Electronic Arts, Naughty Dog (The Last of Us) and other AAA studios.
Exodus: The Archimedes Engine is the first book in a duology by legendary author Peter F. Hamilton. It’s an original novel set in the universe of EXODUS and explores Hamilton’s richly-imagined worlds.

Another masterpiece
Peter F Hamilton managers to do it to me every time. I start one of his books I start out by thinking I’m not gonna like this and end up by thinking it’s the best book I’ve had for a long time. This book is no different absolutely stunning. with a sublime narration.

Super creative
Mr. Hamilton brings to life a gloriously creative future of fantastic scale. The setting is unique compared to his other work, but carries his signature slow burn political machinations and pitting pawns into positions, and then it just ramps up and up and up.
The setting is remarkably creative, a joyous wonder to jump in along with the protagonists to explore one incredibly scenery after another. I can’t wait for the sequel(s).

What a great new universe from Peter F. Hamilton
I've always enjoyed P.F Hamiltons books, especially his earlier work, but this has so many new ideas and world building. This is a sci-fi drama is a masterpeice, and lengthy enough to cgallange anything Peter has written before.
Well enjoyed.

Cannot wait for the next part in the series!
Epic story! A true space opera!!
This is right up there with Iain M. Banks' "The Culture" universe. Hoping it spawns just as many books!

Classic Hamilton but does it need a sequel
Hamilton says this is a stand alone book, but it leaves lots of loose ends which is a little unsatisfactory. However, it's his usual, beautifully described, multi-threaded space opera. Lee's narration is as necessary a companion, as it is limited. But who cares, if you like this type of audio book, and I do, it's THE combination. Not his best, but still highly enjoyable

Hamilton at his Best
All the classic elements you would expect. Incredibly imaginative world building with a dizzying array of
characters and opposing factions that start as seperate threads but are masterfully knitted together in a grand narrative that just builds in intrigue.
For those familiar with Peter's books you'll love it. It requires the usual patience as
he always spends time on the world building part. There is always so much thought and depth
that goes into that part. The humans and their celestial descendants are fully believable with vast backstories and a unique History that covers their economic and political lives as well as fascinating technology. There are some similar 'Hamiltonesque' characters that serve to push the narrative forward which will be familiar to fans. But the setting is completely new.
It reminds a bit of Frank Herbert's Dune. The vast political intrigue across the various star systems, with an Empress and rival Royal factions is more interesting than the sometimes bland and predictable Commonwealth. John Lee delivers a fantastic performance as usual. The only gripe with the Audio version is that Audible still don't have the useful "X-Ray" feature which gives context to any character or idea when needed. If ever there was a solid example of a use case for "X-Ray" then Peter Hamilton is the author. It can be quite challenging to keep abreast of all the characters, factions and myriad staff of this Queen or that Queen, this dominion's representative or that and their interactions and conversations over a time-dilated universe and multiple star systems or planets. There is a very short audio character index
but it could be longer. Hopefully some fandom publishes an extensive list online soon as it really needs that.
In summary. This book is brilliant and demonstrates how Hamilton just gets better and better.
Also credit to John Lee for a great performance.
